RFP 1337 Board approved 10-08-09 Posted, 14 October, 2009 Request to use the RFP 1337 bidding method for selection and use SLD- Erate 470 (Erate 2009-2010) form application for basic maintenance of internal connections including fiber SM, MM, Cable, Telecom, ISP internet, Tarrified Services, Smartnet, Switches, Servers, Access Points, ATA s, UPS, Cell Services, Long Distance Phone Services, Cell Services, PIR Services, Point to Point access services, Call managers, Routers, PIX firewalls, gateways and Distance learning carts. The Chinle Unified School District is seeking proposals for maintenance and upgrades to its technology at all schools in the District and for the District Backbone and telephony that are eligible for E-Rate funding. We seek vendors with a proven track record of service to their customers. The District presently has a Cisco equipped data communications network with Cisco call Manager providing telephone services. We are seeking tariffed services, Internet Bandwidth, T1 & DS3 services, eligible licensing and maintenance services on the District servers, wiring, fiber and voice and data networks and network hardware, including CISCO Smartnet.. Smart Net : This District is completely equipped with Cisco Devices. We need to maintain and monitor the devices. Cisco Smartnet is our choice of a means to do this. We need to have our Smart net renew every year. Devices include 6500, 4506, 4507 and 3550 all inline power switches. UPS Maintenance: The School uses Uninterruptable Power Supplies of several makes to protect the valuable switches. We require maintenance, battery replacement and support. We have a variety of Best, and APC Brands. Distance Learning The District is seeking solutions to Distance learning...a form of video and audio conferencing specifically designed for instructional applications. We have a need at all schools, to come up with a solution that will allow us to better use unique talents and skills of staff to present learning programs District wide. This will also allow advanced students at some schools to enjoy the benefits of courses taught at other schools. We currently are involved in two inter district programs with Distance learning, one with the N.A.T.I.V.E. district and another with ASU West. Our preference is to maintain a one vendor solution using CISCO products. Wireless access Point Maintenance and Programming: These and will also serve as access points for portable IP phones and PDA's. The entirety of all campuses will be provided coverage to enable staff with wireless IP phones to have service from anywhere on the property. Initial work has been completed. We need to have complete coverage of all school property and campuses. Call Managers Maintenance and Programming The District is served in part, by CISCO call managers and an integrated Exchange server. We will need expertise in managing these devices. FIREWALLS, Web servers, DNS, DHCP Servers and Exchanges S Maintenance, programming and troubleshooting services are required to keep these systems running at maximum efficiency and may include updating with recent software and firmware releases as well as programming to keep us compatible with current ISP addressing.. LOCATION: Computer Services - Computer and

Telecommunications Center, Chinle, Arizona This District Office (DO) - Computer Center is the center and trunk for all our close circuits on the District, Routers, Firewalls, Core Switches, Call managers, DNS Server, DHCP Server, Storage Units Servers, Cache Engines (proxy server), Email Server, Terminal Server, Web Server, Also this site is the link to our ISP provider (T1 s terminals, DSL and DS3's), Wireless access Points, CAL licenses Server, All devices Serve the District basic needs. The DO has a service on homeruns links to avoid massive downtime and all bid's or proposals must follow the same specs and standards. INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDERS We are seeking quotes for Internet Service Providers to provide up to 45 MB bandwidth over T1 or DSL/DS3 circuits at the most economical pricing. We will also consider proposals for data concentrator that can pack more than 1.54 Mb of content into existing T1 circuits. All Service providers must be able to provide the district access to usage - both up and down stream- on request. We are currently using Frontier Communication's Metro Internet connection with Four T1's bonded into one circuit and need to increase this to seven. Cellular Telephone Service Presently there is only one Cellular phone provider serving Chinle. DIAL TONE and POTS Services Presently Navajo Communications aka Frontier Communications is the only provider available for POTS. We are accepting proposals for long distance services. Navajo Provides 1000 DID numbers and numerous T1 and copper Tip and Ring trunks, Maintenance on Call Manager System We presently have a Call Manager network serving almost 1000 telephones with voicemail. We need, at the least, maintenance and software upgrades for this equipment. All have BEST UPS's that require maintenance., NETWORK/ SERVER SOFTWARE UPGRADES and User Licensing

Network Hardware Maintenance As is permitted by E-Rate we desire a quote for all network hardware, including routers, switches, DSU_CSU's, data concentrators, servers, and cache engines. IBM AS400 and attached, integral web server Maintenance quote is requested for the 810 AS400, operating system and attached server. Operating System Licenses, Maintenance, and consulting services. The following Operating systems are currently in use: 1. Windows 2003 2. Windows XP Professional 3. Citrix 4. Various Levels of Windows Servers 5. Linux We are requesting additional CAL licenses for our Exchange server and support of Active Directory, as well as our web servers. UPS: The School uses ups to protect their valuable switches and also need the yearly support renewal to maintain the units; the Units are Symetras 6 KVA, 8 KVA and smaller units.
