RedPoint Interaction Version 2.6 Version 2.6 of RedPoint Interaction introduces the following features: Realtime Decision Enhancements RedPoint Interaction version 2.6 adds a number of key features to round out its realtime content personalization capabilities. Database Realtime Decision A new type of realtime decision the database decision allows you to vary content on a web page in accordance with a known site visitor s attribute values, as retrieved from the RedPoint Interaction data warehouse. For database decisions to be used, a visitor must first identify him-or herself to RedPoint Interaction. This can occur by e.g.: The visitor submitting a web form containing a form element mapped to a lookup key in a cached attribute list. The visitor having logged into a Facebook app using a RedPoint Interaction Facebook login button. The visitor navigating to a RedPoint Interaction landing page via a personalized link in an outbound communication received via RedPoint Interaction, which contains a URL parameter that maps to a cached attribute list lookup key. 1
Once a visitor is known to RedPoint Interaction, her or his realtime cached profile can be augmented with values for a series of attributes, defined by a cached attribute list. Database decisions can then be created, containing criteria based on data warehouse attribute values, which can be used to vary content in a RedPoint Interaction landing (or other) web page. Cached Attribute Lists Cached attribute lists consist of the following: A lookup key, which can be used to uniquely identify a website visitor; for example an email address might serve to identify a visitor uniquely, and hence serve as the basis for retrieval of attribute values to store in his or her realtime profile. The list of database column attributes to be retrieved from the data warehouse, based on the supplied lookup key. These can then be used to build database decisions in the Realtime Decision Designer. Cached attribute lists are managed in their own dedicated configuration interface. Write Cached Profile Data to Data Warehouse Data gleaned about a website visitor can be written back from the realtime cache to a series of dedicated tables in the RedPoint Interaction data warehouse. Such data includes: Unique visitor IDs, and dates of first and last visits. 2
Details of pages visited. Cached attribute lookup keys captured for the visitor. Referrer details. Facebook parameters. Decisions made by RedPoint Interaction when determining personalized content to be served to a visitor. Facebook Realtime Decision The Facebook realtime decision allows web page content to be personalized based on values passed to the RedPoint Interaction realtime cache from the Facebook Graph, at the point of a site visitor logging into a Facebook app via a RedPoint Interaction Facebook login button. Decision Scorecard Decisions scorecards can be used in conjunction with realtime decisions, facilitating the assignment of a weight value to a site visitor s fulfilling the criteria defined within a realtime decision. 3
Further content personalization can then be undertaken by leveraging scorecards in subsequent realtime decisions. Web Tracking Decision Enhancements The following decision criterion types have been added to the web tracking realtime decision: Referrer (the visitor's referring web page) Social referrer (the name of the social network from which the visitor was referred) 4
Realtime Tracker The RedPoint Interaction Realtime Tracker allows you to view metrics relating to published landing pages, such as the number of times pages were visited, details of links clicked therein and forms submitted. Data are presented as time series of activity across a user-definable date range, and are also aggregated by landing page and metric and presented as stacked bar charts. 5
Published Details Interface The RedPoint Interaction Published Details interface allows you to view metrics and trends thereof, generated by site visitor activity, in respect of a published version of a landing page or dynamic asset. If viewing a landing page version s published details, the interface contains details of and metrics relating to: The dynamic assets used in the landing page version. The links therein. The web forms included in the landing page version. If viewing a realtime dynamic asset version s published details, the interface contains details of and metrics relating to: Content impressions rendered by the asset version as a whole Content impressions rendered by the asset in the context of its utilization in a landing page version. 6
Landing Page Enhancements The RedPoint Interaction Landing Page Designer interface has been revisited, with a view to streamlining its contents and providing for an enhanced user experience. In addition, the following features have been added to the Designer: Include Non-Realtime Dynamic Assets Previously, only realtime decision-based dynamic assets were supported in the Landing Page Designer. In RedPoint Interaction v2.6, when you target a prospective website visitor with an outbound communication (typically an email) containing a link to a RedPoint Interaction landing page, you can include within that landing page dynamic assets in which content applicability decisions are made using selection rules, attribute values or dataflow output membership. Facebook Login Button New to RedPoint Interaction v2.6 is the ability to insert a button into a landing page that a visitor can click in order to log into a Facebook app. 7
During the login process, Facebook will confirm that the visitor is happy to divulge a range of data. After successful login, RedPoint Interaction can use this data in the context of Facebook realtime decisions to determine personalized content to be served to the visitor. Publish History A Landing Page Publish History dialog has been added to RedPoint Interaction v2.6. The dialog allows you to view details of all of the instances of a landing page that have been published. It also allows you to unpublish a published landing page instance, removing its HTML file in the process. Floating Preview Window The Landing Page Preview section can now be viewed as an autonomous, floating Window. 8
This increases the amount of screen real estate available when building landing pages. In addition, the Page Layout section can now be hidden, meaning that the maximum possible area for page design is now available to the user. Dynamic Previews The ability to preview dynamic content, which was previously only available in the email Offer Designer, has been added to the Landing Page Designer. Default Web Trackers One of each locally-configured Google Analytics, web events and Piwik web adapters can now be defined as a default web tracker. Any default web trackers are attached automatically to a new landing page. 9
New Button Types Buttons have been provided to facilitate integration with the following external providers: SurveyMonkey Quora Reddit Image Properties Two new properties HTML ID and HTML class are now available when editing an image asset in the context of a landing page. Landing Page Links When inserting a link into a landing page, the user now has the option to select a landing page to which to link (rather than specifying an explicit URL). 10
Publish Realtime Dynamic Assets In addition to a general refresh of the dynamic asset Digital Asset Designer, the ability has also been added, for dynamic assets only, to independently publish the asset s content and logic for later use in an external web page. Dynamic assets containing text or HTML content can be published to the realtime cache. Script (available at the Digital Asset Designer) can be added to external web pages to serve published dynamic asset content therein. Dynamic assets containing image content can also be published to a combination of the realtime cache (for the decision logic)( and a web publish location (for the images). It is also optionally now possible to define one web publish site or folder as the default content location, to which dynamic assets will be published automatically unless an explicit publish location is specified. 11
Offer Designer Enhancements In the interest of maximizing the available screen display, the Offer Designer tabset is only now shown when an offer supports more than one delivery method. In addition, changes have been made in the following delivery method-specific contexts: Email Offer Miscellaneous Enhancements A general refresh of the email Offer Designer interface has been undertaken, with the emphasis on tidying its contents and enhancing the user experience. The following features, which are documented elsewhere, have also been added to the email Offer Designer: Floating preview Window. Image properties. New buttons (SurveyMonkey, Quora and Reddit). Hide Page Layout section. Landing page links. 12
ExactTarget Data Transfer Enhancements It is now possible to choose to append RedPoint Interaction-sourced data to an existing ExactTarget data extension, and to define how this should occur (overwrite/add only/update only/add and update). Support for ExactTarget data transfer offer execution within a recurring workflow is also now provided. 13
Interaction Designer Enhancements The following enhancements have been introduced at the Interaction Designer: Recurring Trigger Enhancements Following deactivation of a Production recurring trigger after creation of a workflow instance, a user can now edit schedule settings, and can re-activate workflow having saved it. When configuring a monthly recurring workflow, two new options (workday and weekend day) have been added. In addition, a new Offset by property allows for adjustment of the trigger s scheduled firing time by pulling it forward or pushing it back by a given number of days. Export Enhancements Export execution has been optimized, and users should witness a performance increase in this context. A new Allow duplicates on resolution has been added to data extract channels and export activities. If the channel or activity s export template is configured with any cross-resolution attributes, deduplication is ignored, and multiple records for a single resolution key can be output in an export file. Note Enhancement It is now possible to define a note s text alignment within the Interaction Designer. HTML Asset Enhancements The following features, which are documented elsewhere, have also been added to the HTML Digital Asset Designer: New buttons (SurveyMonkey, Quora and Reddit). New image properties. Landing page links. Floating preview Window. External Web Publish Sites A new Publish method External content provider is available when configuring a web publish site. When selected, you can choose an Amazon Web Services S3, FTP, Rackspace or SharePoint external content providers to serve as a web publish site. 14
New External Content Providers Support has been added for two new external content provider types: Drupal Umbraco Salesforce Integration Enhancements The following enhancements to RedPoint Interaction s integration with Salesforce have been introduced: Support for managing Salesforce Contacts using RedPoint Interaction has been added, augmenting the tool s existing ability to manage Salesforce Leads. When configuring a Salesforce channel, the list of Field parameters to be mapped to RedPoint Interaction attributes is now sourced directly from Salesforce.com. Leads and contacts created in Salesforce.com can now be synchronized back to RedPoint Interaction. 15
Miscellaneous Enhancements The following miscellaneous enhancements have also been introduced in v2.6: Display Client Name At Application Title The name of the current RedPoint Interaction client in the context of which a user is currently working is now displayed at the RedPoint Interaction Window s title bar. This can be particularly useful if working in a multi-tenant environment. Web Form Digital Asset Form Elements Maps To Textbox and Email web form elements can now been mapped to a cached attribute list s lookup key (see database decisions, above, for further information). Removing Non-printable Characters at Export Templates It is now possible to specify that an export template remove non-printable characters at execution. Configurable Data Limit At Analysis Panels A new system configuration setting allows the maximum number of values to be retrieved for a given attribute during crosstab or pivot table execution to be limited. Disable Pulses Another new configuration setting allows Pulses to be switched off completely in RedPoint Interaction. New Reddit Channel A new Reddit channel supports the introduction of the Reddit button described above. Data Extract Custom Filename Enhancements Dataflow and Workflow ID text parts have been added to the Design Filename Format dialog. Recent Items Context Menu A new context menu, available at the Recent Items dashboard part (and standard Home Page), provides access to View File Information, Open Latest Version and Open File Location functionality. 16
