RULES AND TOURNAMENT INFORMATION 1. All round robin matches are two sets. Playoff matches are best two of three sets. (all sets are to 25 points no cap). 2. Placing at the end of round robin play for the girls will be will be determined as follows: a. The first criterion is sets won b. After this, if 2 or more teams are tied i. The team having the best ratio of won/lost sets (considering the sets played between tied teams) will be ranked higher. ii. The team having the best ratio of points for against (considering the sets played between tied teams) will be ranked higher. iii. The team having the best ratio of points for against (considering all sets played in the round robin) will be ranked higher. iv. Coin Toss 3. The top 4 teams will be involved in the play-offs 4. Semi finals #1 vs #4 and #2 vs #3
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR EVERYONE 1. Teams will be assigned a dressing room/classroom. Please ensure that these rooms are cleaned up at the completion of the tournament. Each classroom has computers, Smart Boards, documents cameras, projectors etc. Please do not touch this equipment. 2. Teams will be asked to act as scorekeepers and linesman (see attached schedule) Your cooperation and assistance is appreciated. 3. Please remind all players and parents there is NO SMOKING in the school or on school grounds 4. Scheduled times are tentative be prepared to play earlier. The order of the matches will remain as per schedule. Warm up time may be limited. 5. There is a canteen in operation throughout the tournament. Please remind your athletes that they are not to take food or drinks into the gym. 6. Students and visitors are not to go into areas of the school that have been blocked off. Please remain in the gym area or in the north hallway where the assigned classrooms are located. The courtyard is off limits to students. 7. Teams must bring their own warm-up balls. If you cannot please contact me as soon as possible and we will try and make arrangements for you. THERE CAN BE ABSOLUTELY NO VOLLEYBALL PLAYING OUTSIDE OF THE GYM AREA. WE HAVE AN OVERHEAD FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM WHICH CAN BE EASILY ACTIVATED IF AVOLLEYBALL HITS A SPRINKLER HEAD. THEREFORE WE ASK THAT ALL COACHES ENSURE THAT THEIR PLAYERS ARE INSTRUCTED NOT TO TAKE VOLLEYBALLS OUT OF THE GYM AND DO NOT PLAY WITH THEM IN THE HALLWAYS, CLASSROOMS OR CHANGE ROOMS. 8. Medals will be presented at the conclusion of the final matches. 9.
