Towson University Psi Chi Officer Elections 2015 Voting on an Executive Board for the 2015-2016 Academic Year!
Psychology Club Representative (1/3) Josh Milstein My name is Josh Milstein and I am a Junior psychology major with a minor in philosophy. I am currently enrolled in the honors thesis program for psychology under Dr. Pistell as my mentor. Likewise, I work in two research labs within the psychology department (Dr. Pistell and Dr. Goodwin). I am not, however, a member of Psi Chi which is why I would like to run for Club Representative. I think I would be a great candidate for this position because I am dedicated to the field of psychology, as is shown by my work experience, and I work diligently on every assignment and project that I do. I am also well organized and a great teamplayer; skills imperative to a well-functioning executive board. Along with my experience in psychology, I am also skilled in Microsoft Office programs as well as social media outlets which will aid me in my potential duties as Club Representative.
Psychology Club Representative (2/3) Jill Taylor I'm Jill Taylor and I am interested in the Psych Club Representative position. I am a freshman here at Towson and I am double majoring in psychology and bioinformatics. I have been interested in psychology ever since 11th grade and I would like to perform research in the neuropsych field when I graduate. I'm interested in the Psych Club Representative position because I'd really like to become more involved with psych club but I am not yet in Psi Chi. I believe this would be a good way for me to get an introduction to what being on the executive side of the club would be like and I would like the chance to be more of a leader since I am so interested in psychology.
Psychology Club Representative (3/3) Shannon Jordan My name is Shannon Jordan and I'd like to run for the position of psychology club representative. I'm a sophomore psychology major and plan on going into a career counseling children. In high school I've held leadership positions as well as had the experience planning fundraisers and community service events. I would really like to be considered for this position because I believe that I have valuable ideas and am willing to act as a representative so that other people's voices and ideas can also be heard. I am passionate about psychology and would love to be as involved as possible in this club.

Public Relations Officer
Treasurer Savanah Clark This is Savanah Clark. I am interested in running for president and treasurer in this upcoming election with preference for treasurer. I am currently a supersenior with a biology and psychology double major. I am treasurer of Active Minds, and I am Professor Magalis' research assistant. We are currently researching diabetes and cognitive functioning. I am interested in Biopsychology. I hope to attend medical school after graduation, so that I can pursue psychiatry. I am knowledgeable about both the psychology track and opportunities for it. This knowledge makes me a good candidate for an officer. I have experience proctoring as well as experience as a research assistant. I also have previous experience being treasurer of an organization, so I know the criteria and requirements involved for the position. However, leadership is a strength of mine which makes me a qualified candidate for president as well.
Secretary (1/2) Perri Hooper I'm Perri Hooper and would like to run for Secretary. I've been a member of Psi Chi since December of 2014. I attend as many meetings as possible, and try my best to be involved in as much community service as I can. For the Fall of 2015 I will be a senior and I am a double major (n Psych and CRMJ). I am a retail manager so I have good leadership and communication skills. I would love the opportunity to have a leadership role in Psi Chi
Secretary (2/2) Lilly Skeiky My name is Lilly Skeiky and I am currently a third-year psychology student here at Towson University. I am in the Honors Thesis program conducting my own research on body image. I am also a student in the Clinical Specialization Program. I am especially interested in research and all of the components that go along with it. I am a research assistant for Dr. Chasson s SOAR lab and for Dr.Shifren s caregiving lab. After graduating I anticipate on moving on to a clinical psychology or research psychology master s program (or more ambitiously a Ph.D. program) An organization like Psi Chi needs to have a person who is willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything that goes on behind the scenes runs smoothly to ensure the success of the club, which is something I would be honored to do. Being a research assistant, a student of the clinical specialization track and developing my own thesis has taught me advanced writing skills. Such skills are necessary and crucial to be a competent and effective secretary. I am positive that if I am elected secretary, I will work hard to fulfill my given responsibilities and go the extra mile to ensure that Psi Chi is successful and thriving.
Vice-President Kimberly Cates My name is Kimberly Cates and I believe I would be a great candidate for Vice President. But first, here's a little about me. I am currently a junior that is majoring in psychology with a minor in biology. I am very passionate about psychology overall as I believe psychology can relate to all aspects of life. I am extremely active in the department through volunteering in the three labs, working with NAMI, and currently being the Club Representative for Psi Chi/ Psychology Club. In addition, I am in The Honors Thesis Program under the supervision of Dr. Pistell. Through my undergraduate experience in the department, I have become acclimated with several of the faculty members, the resources available, and possible career paths that accompany specific interests. With that being said, as Vice President, I would like to assist other undergraduate students in cultivating their passions through exposure to such resources. In effect of this, I aspire to redirect the club in becoming more cohesive and also, functioning as a basis for networking. In order words, I hope that in future meetings students will gain a insight into potential academic directions as well as establish relations with others that hold similar interests to their own. In summary, I am very confident that with my experience, knowledge, and passion in the field as well as the growth that I envision for Psi Chi/Psychology Club that acquiring the position of Vice President will be very beneficial for the club overall.

President (2/2) Toni Santoro My name is Toni Santoro and I currently hold the position of Psi Chi s secretary. I will be graduating this semester, but will be continuing my education as a master s student here at Towson in the Experimental Psychology program and would love to continue my work with Psi Chi as a graduate student. I am currently working in Dr. Munro s social lab looking at persuasion and in Towson s Yoga Research lab looking at the effects of yoga on cognition. I hope to do my thesis on the effect of mindfulness on persuasion. I have thoroughly enjoyed my short time as secretary with Psi Chi and I think the skills I have developed as secretary would help to make me a successful president. I would love to continue my leadership role in Psi Chi and help to continue to make the club as successful as it can be.
