Graduating Senior Survey Report Health Administration, BCH Last Modified: 05/08/ What is MOST LIKELY to be your MAIN activity or activities upon graduation? (Select all that apply) Employment, fulltime paid 23 68% Employment, parttime paid 7 21% Graduate or professional 11 32% school, full-time Graduate or professional 8 24% school, part-time Additional undergraduate 3 9% coursework Military service 2 6% Volunteer activity (e.g., Peace Corps) 2 6% Starting or raising a family 5 15% Other, please specify: 2 6% Other, please specify: Working on becoming a mother Be involved with my fraternity graduate chapter

2. As a result of all the courses I have completed at UNF, I feel that... Question I have learned to write more effectively. I have learned to communicate orally in a more effective manner. I have learned how to produce effective digital or multi-media communications. I have acquired greater skill in quantitative reasoning. I have improved in my ability to analyze quantitative information. I better understand the scientific method. I am more adept at using the scientific method. I have improved in my ability to think critically. Strongly Agree Agree Neutral Disagree Strongly Disagree Not Applicable or Don t Know Total Responses Please indicate whether or not you had any of the following experiences while enrolled at UNF. Question Yes No Total Responses Internship Worked with a faculty member on a research project outside of course or program requirements Study abroad experience

4. Please indicate the number of separate occasions on which you have interacted with the community in the following ways while enrolled at UNF. For example, if you were enrolled in a class that did work in the community once a week for an entire semester, count that as 14 occasions. Question Community Outreach (volunteering, philanthropy, summer camps, public performances in underserved locations, assisting in boys and girls clubs) Community-based apprenticeship (internships, field placements, supervised practicums) Immersion in a community (alternative breaks, study abroad where there is meaningful project-based immersion in a community) Community-based work for academic credit (service learning, civic engagement projects, capstone projects, public education activities) Community-based research (research project for, in, or in collaboration with the community) or more Total Responses

5. Indicate to what extent you agree with each of the following statements. Question When I think about my coursework, I am often reminded of relevant life experiences. My understanding about who I am and my role in my community has been influenced by my college experiences. I often see connections between topics I study in my major and courses outside my major. When I experience puzzling life events, I often think back to things I learned in my courses. The courses I have taken in my major have little to do with courses outside my major. I like to draw on ideas from many areas of study to solve complex problems. Sometimes the best way to communicate with others is to talk face to face. When I do a presentation, I sometimes struggle to select the best format for the audience. I feel that exploring new ways to solve a problem often leads to a good solution. When I am faced with a complex issue in my community, I think about the skills and ideas I have learned in college. I find that thinking about future implications of my actions often gets in the way of solving immediate problems. Strongly Agree Agree Neutral Disagree Strongly Disagree Total Responses

I am confident that I can relate important concepts in my major to other fields of study. People who get upset about what other people say to them are just not paying attention. If I could do my college education over again, I would take more interdisciplinary courses. Sometimes I think back to things I have done in the past that I would do very differently now if I had the opportunity. When studying my major, I find myself thinking about how the topic applies to my community. I often find that my experiences in the community help me think about topics in my major. When trying to solve a difficult problem, I find it is best to go with tried and true methods. My field of study has few real-world applications. I enjoy connecting facts and theories from one field of study to another field of study. When faced with a complicated problem, I find it helpful to draw on the knowledge and experiences of others

6. Where did you live while enrolled in college? In answering, please consider all colleges you have attended. Lived on-campus for entire college career Lived on-campus, but currently 10 29% reside off-campus Lived off-campus, but currently reside on-campus Lived off-campus for entire college 24 71% career 7. What was your student class when you began attending UNF? Freshman 14 41% Sophomore 5 15% Junior 14 41% Senior 1 3% Other (e.g., nondegree seeking student) 8. From the time you began attending UNF, how many years did it take you to graduate? (Please round to the next highest whole number.) 1 1 3% % % % % 6 2 6% 7 8 or more

9. Considering only the time spent at UNF, I could have graduated sooner if it were not for the following reasons (choose all that apply): My required courses were not available in the term(s) 7 21% I needed them. My required courses were not offered at the times I 9 27% needed them. I withdrew or did not enroll during one or more terms. 6 18% I had to retake one or more courses % I made course selection decisions that delayed my 5 15% graduation. I had to work full-time or part-time % I chose to participate in an internship or study abroad. 2 6% I took a reduced course load. 4 12% I changed majors % I double majored. 1 3% Courses I took before I came to UNF did not 1 3% adequately prepare me. I encountered financial difficulties. 2 6% I had academic difficulties. 3 9% I had health problems. 2 6% I had personal or family problems. 3 9% I have a documented disability. I did not seek help from my advisor, faculty or other 1 3% appropriate resources. I graduated when I expected to graduate % Other. (Please Specify) 1 3% Not applicable. 2 6%

10. Were you employed at any time while you were a student at UNF? (Do not include work during breaks, only while classes were in session.) Yes 28 82% No 6 18% 11. On the average, about how many hours did you work for pay while enrolled at UNF? (Do not include work during breaks, only while classes were in session.) Question On Campus Off Campus Total Responses I worked 1-10 hours per week I worked hours per week I worked hours per week I worked hours per week I worked 41 or more hours per week If you had it to do over again, would you enroll at UNF? Definitely yes 19 56% Probably yes 12 35% Not sure 1 3% Probably no 2 6% Definitely no

13. Please rate your agreement with the following statements about the value of your UNF education. Question My UNF education was life transforming. My UNF education prepared me for the career I want to pursue. My UNF education has led me to rethink my career goals. I took full advantage of the educational opportunities I had at UNF. Strongly agree Agree Neutral Disagree Strongly Disagree Total Responses Please comment on any of your answers. Text Response If anything, my time at UNF has increased my interest in my chosen career path. My major in UNF is an eye opener to career I wanted. I do not agree students should be forced to complete education in 4-5 years if they are self-pay (i.e. no grants or other free money). I feel they should be allowed to attend school paying for it as they go along rather than incurring huge debts. This not only allows them to be financially more independent but also allows people coming in from high school time to mature. 15. In the past academic year, how often have you reviewed any of the materials, ideas, or insights you encountered in UNF courses outside your major, including general education courses and elective courses? At least once a week 4 12% At least once a month 11 32% At least once a semester 8 24% Less than once a semester 5 15% Not at all 6 18%

16. Of all the courses that you have taken in your major, which have been the best and why? Text Response I really enjoyed the capstone class because it was practical application. Introduction to Health Care Administration. Professor Don Hutton taught that class and he made it very entertaining. Leadership course Long term care courses, not only does it suit my career field, but it helped me individually because one day we will all get old and face the predicament that residents in long term care are facing. for example how Medicaid and Medicare pays for their services in long term care. Intro to health administration - great (I had very knowledgeable professor - Dr. Hutton) / Health Care delivery and Healthcare technology - great ( Dr. Spaulding is full of information and shares well with his students) / Long Term care - Dr. Kenney is amazing professor and academic adviser! / Health Care marketing - learned so much about advertisement and enjoyed the class very much / / All of them have been helpful in my first real career within Health Administration. Intro to Health Administration because it introduced me to concepts that are important for whatever job I will go into. Long Term Care Administration when I took this class I realized I wanted to work with the senior population. Healthcare Admin Capstone it was the best because it the course gave a macro view of all the subjects covered. Any class that involves Dr. Haley as he has been an amazing professor. I also enjoyed Health care Capstone with Dr. Harrison Healthcare Capstone with Professor Stubbs. Great teacher, he makes sure you understand the material. Healthcare Finance. I am very interested in this field and this was a very knowledgeable class that will prepare me for when I further my studies as I intend to specialize in Finance. Health care finance / Health Information Systems - I was fortunate to have this course taught by someone with knowledge of Information Technology (IT). I think this is important because those that do not work in IT may not have an understanding of processes, costs and time frame it takes for IT to complete tasks. Having an instructor with experience working in IT, in my opinion, is key to translate this knowledge sharing to the non-it major students. Introduction the Health Administration because it gave me an understanding of the field. Health Law and Ethics and Introductions to Health Administration

17. Of all the courses that you have taken outside your major, which have been the best and why? Text Response Substance Abuse and violence prevention because of it's link to elder abuse and personal experience. Social Psychology. I've always been interested in psychology, so it was a fun course to take. Sociology. How to interact with different people of different backgrounds, especially United States as a diversified country. Social psychology - Dr. Truelove is very good and taught the course very well. / Human Sexual Behavior- best professor I've ever had. Literature in the Kitchen because I learned about so many aspects of food that I never knew about. Computer Application for Business because I learned things about computer programs I probably never would have learned. leadership courses because they allowed me to grow as a person and that allowed me to have a better understand of life as a while. Technical writing Earth Space Science with Dr. Albright and Golf with Professor Davidson because both professors were great and used very real world examples to get their points across. Most memorable classes at UNF Health and Nutrition. There are so many obese people around me that I am always on a diet because I am so paranoid of becoming obese. I loved this class as it gave me a lot of insight on how I should eat healthy, and introduced me to websites that I can look at and keep up with on a daily basis. Sex, Race, and Class because I learned so much about sociology and the class felt like a traditional college setting. Business Law 18. Did you take any courses in your major that were not relevant to your field of study? Yes 12 35% Not sure 6 18% No 16 47% 19. Please comment on your answer. Text Response I took anthropology by mistake and got a B which lowered my GPA. Was not given proper instruction in the elective courses. Construction management classes Financial Accounting I have an interest in law also in which I was interested in pursuing a law minor but the academic advisors were not too helpful with that.
