Central Pennsylvania Section American Association of Physics Teachers Spring 2016 PTRA (Physics Teaching Resource Agents) AAPT-CPS Workshop NASA resources and Rocket Science 101 NASA has produced an abundance of information and educational materials for teaching about space. There is also a vast amount of information about airplanes and flight that often goes overlooked. The workshop will show you some of the resources that are available for teachers that are free. Many can be used to supplement your curriculum. There will also be an engineering activity for modifying a soda bottle into a water rocket. Participants should bring several empty soda bottles of different volumes to use in the engineering activity. Any size except for three liter is fine. A computer and memory storage device would also be useful. Workshop leaders: Pat Callahan (ptcallahan@aol.com) Dave McCachren (kmccachren@comcast.net ) Contact Dave or Pat if you have questions about the workshop. Where: Moravian College, Collier Hall of Science Room 105 Introductory Physics Lab When: Friday April 8 th, 2016 Time: 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cost: $75 per participant. Make check payable to AAPT-CPS Please let us know at least two weeks before the workshop so we can plan for materials.
