Daybreak serves youth and young adults in crisis through emergency shelter, transitional housing, street outreach, and employment services. Daybreak is the region s only housing program designed to move homeless youth ages 18 to 24 out of homelessness, poverty, under-education, and crisis and into housing, financial independence, educational achievement, and self-sufficiency. 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Emergency Shelter any troubled, at-risk or homeless youth between the ages of 10 and 19 are eligible to stay in the emergency shelter unless they have a known history of repeated or extreme violence or sexual offenses. Street Outreach any troubled, at-risk or homeless youth up to age 24 may visit the Street Outreach Center for food, necessities and assistance in finding a safe play to live. Transitional Housing Must be referred by the Daybreak s emergency shelter, street outreach program, or another Montgomery County approved emergency shelter. Day-Mont Behavioral Health Care, Inc. Students attending the Webster Street Academy remain actively enrolled in their current school, are generally able to participate in after school functions, and are awarded credit for the completion of academic work with the ultimate goal being the student's successful re-integration to their home school. ACT is for individuals who have the most serious symptoms of severe mental illness/ substance abuse and who, consequently, have the greatest difficulty with basic daily activities. CAMI: Chemically Addicted Mental Illness services. The care is 16 to 18 weeks with weekly follow up sessions designed to provide long term recovery support. The interventions outlined in the treatment plan are oriented towards recover, abstinence, maintenance, and stabilization. Persons receive individual and group counseling related to substance abuse and mental illness, in addition to receiving Med somatic (psychiatric medication) services from a physician, if needed. Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) for adults battling both a severe and persistent mental illness and a significant issue with alcohol and/or drugs. Adults with no way to pay for services must be Montgomery County residents. Adults with Medicaid do not need to be Montgomery County residents. Multiple therapeutic interventions that promote mental health stabilization and support for their substance use disorders, and development of harm reduction skills. Individuals are involved in a minimum of 30 hours of services, including psychiatric services, individual and group counseling. The individual is also involved in social activities to help foster a development of leisure skills that do not involve the use of alcohol and drugs. Buzzkill is a program to help colleges educate their students on the responsibilities of social hosting and the deterrence of underage drinking. Parents Who Host, Lose the Most is a public awareness campaign to educate parents about the health and safety risks of serving alcohol at teen parties. This program encourages parents and the ENTIRE community to send a unified message that teen alcohol consumption is unhealthy, unsafe and unacceptable. DAWN kits are available to friends and family members of anyone in Montgomery County who either regularly takes Opioid-based medication (such as Hydrocodone, Fentanyl, Tramadol, or Morphine) or uses heroin. Free classes and DAWN kits are available on Wednesdays at noon at the CrisisCare offices. Training for groups of 10 or more may be scheduled.
