Direct Deposit Direct deposit is a mandatory requirement. Employees may deposit their paychecks to any bank or savings and loan institution or credit union accepting such services. Employees may establish up to five (5) accounts for direct deposit. Changes to account information can be done through Employee Self Service (ESS). The deadline for all changes to account information is the Friday before the employee s respective pay date. Changes made after the deadline may NOT be reflected on the desired pay check. Direct deposit returns any changes to your account information resulting in a returned payment will be processed after the District receives the credit from your bank (3-5 business days).
GO GREEN Opt-Out of Paper Pay Advices Employees can opt-out by signing into Employee Self Service (ESS) and clicking on the Printed Pay Advice/Pay Stub Optout or Opt-in link on the Payment tab Employees who opt-out may view and print pay advices on-line via ESS at their discretion
ALL Days Paid (ADP) All work days from the start to the end of each respective calendar are considered ADP days Allows for equal paychecks, except for the first and last paycheck of the employee s calendar Annual contract salary does not change Example: 186 day contract calendar = 209 ADP Paid Days 196 day contract calendar = 215 ADP Paid Days
Year Round Pay (YRP) An optional plan offered to certain employees based on eligibility (240 day calendar and below). Requires annual enrollment does not roll over from year to year. Spreads your gross contract salary from your primary position only, over 12 months. Is governed by IRS regulations (Deferred Compensation) and is subject to very stringent requirements Due to IRS regulations, once selected, this option may not be cancelled during the school year except for qualified hardship Taxes, garnishments, Tax Sheltered Annuities (TSA) and Union dues will be taken from all bi-weekly pay checks including summer checks
Employee Self Service (ESS) When logging into Employee Self Service (ESS), remember to Log Out or the changes will not be updated for your next payroll Payroll changes in ESS must be completed prior to Friday before the pay date for changes to take effect on that pay date. For example: If you are an AA employee scheduled to be paid on November 7 th, then you must make your change in ESS by Friday October 31 st For security reasons, always log out of ESS after making changes and do not share your password with anyone
Payroll Deductions Tax Sheltered Annuities (TSA) Only companies approved by the Board, shall be permitted to enroll eligible Board employees in Tax Sheltered Annuities and Mutual Fund Programs Changes to TSA deduction amounts must be coordinated with the respective Agent Florida Retirement System (FRS) Currently, employees contribute 3% of gross earnings to FRS
Payroll Deductions Continued Union Dues Employees who desire to become members of the BTU-ESP shall file their authorization form with the BTU-ESP If the employee decides at any time to stop union due deduction a written request to the BTU-ESP and to the Payroll Department is required Per the collective bargaining agreement, there is a 30 day grace period before the deductions stop
Sick Accruals Accruals start after 45 th work day Can be used after 75 th work day 6 days per fiscal year can be used as SPR 186 calendar-accrues 9 days per fiscal year 196-calendar-accrues 10 days per fiscal year Advanced sick leave - 4 days given up front If an employee terminates and has not earned the 4 sick days available, the School Board shall withhold the average daily amount for those sick days that were utilized but unearned.
