OSB Brazilian Symphonic Orchestra Concept of the Institution as non-tangible Brazilian heritage Support: 3 phases Restructuring the orchestra Plan for sustainability and governance Management and New models for sustainability Endowment Fundraising abroad Social Return: Free admission and access Training Social projects
Lessons Learned Several Sources Planning Management Need to diversify instruments Endowments: Endowments are permanent assets (cash, bonds, property) that are invested to generate a steady flow of resources (income) and thus offer long-term financial sustainability and greater autonomy to cultural institutions. Foreign donators
Lessons Learned Considering that: Brazilian cultural institutions face difficulty in its financial sustainability BNDES fosters the sustainable development of this market BNDES wants to broaden the discussion and encourage the development of the successful model used abroad - Permanent Equity Funds, Endowment and Development of the Business Area - including the challenge to develop knowledge and management tools for their viability in Brazil.
