This module can help you understand the benefits of these financial institutions as well as the services they offer to help you protect, save, and manage your money. COLLEGE COSTS: MORE THAN TUITION This module provides an overview of the expenses and income that could be incorporated in a college student's spending plan. The module also focuses on the expenses in a college's cost of attendance, other expenses, and different sources of support, including financial aid. CREDIT BASICS: HOW MONEY WORKS This module shows how borrowers can use future income to make large purchases, such as an education or a house. The module also explores how lenders make money, the cost of borrowing, and tips for maintaining creditworthiness. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS: MORE THAN A PAYCHECK This module provides an overview of how benefits can increase the value of an employee's total compensation. The module shows a range of benefit options including different types of retirement plans, leave, health and disability insurance, and cafeteria plans.

MONITORING SPENDING: KEEPING IT REAL This module provides an overview of how spending plans can be adjusted to stay in step with financial circumstances as they really exist. The module includes information on avoiding fees, as well as tools and systems to keep accurate track of where money goes each month. NEEDSAND WANTS: PRIORITIZING WHAT COUNTS This module helps students think about the differences between things that are fundamental necessities as opposed to desires or preferences, and how these things can vary across time and circumstance. SAVING AND INVESTING: RISKS AND RETURNS This module provides an overview of how money can grow over time. The module discusses yield, risk, diversification, and other fundamental concepts as they apply to understanding and selecting savings and investment vehicles.

SPENDING PLANS: METING GOALS THE SIMPLE WAY This module explores strategic thinking as it relates to income and expenses. COMPLETE ACCESS AND STUDENT SUCCESS COMPLETING THE TEXAS APPLICATION FOR STATE FINANCIAL AID (TASFA) This module informs students and families of the eligibility criteria and application process for the Texas Application for State Financial Aid, or TASFA. The TASFA is the application used by most Texas colleges and universities to determine undocumented students' eligibility for state financial aid. FOUR STEPS TO STARTING AT A COMMUNITY COLLEGE This module is for students who are interested in starting at a community college but aren't sure where to start, this module can help provide guidance with four key steps, including knowing your goal, applying for

admission, applying for financial aid, and registering for class. This module also showcases some common myths and realities of community college. PAYING FOR COLLEGE: THE BASICS This module helps students and families learn more about how to pursue a higher education. It provides key information for students and parents so that they may understand the role of financial aid in helping to pay for an education. THE FAFSA: YOUR TICKET TO FINANCIAL AID This module explores the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. This module explains how the FAFSA is used in the financial aid process and provides an overview of each section of the form, preparing students and families to complete the FAFSA successfully. STUDENT LOAN COUNSELING A GOOD START: ENTRANCE COUNSELING FOR STUDENT BORROWERS This entrance counseling session is designed for first-time student borrowers. Borrowing is a serious matter, and this session discusses topics students should understand as they take this step. Among other fundamentals, the session covers the master promissory note, types of federal loans, interest capitalization, basic information about loan repayment, and other key elements students should understand when making the decision to finance a higher education. BEFORE YOU LEAVE: EXIT COUNSELING FOR STUDENT BORROWERS This training module emphasizes the importance of tracking student loans, both federal and private, to achieve successful loan repayment. Additionally, students learn about the implications that mismanagement of their loans can have on their credit history. PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL LOANS: PREPARING FOR FINANCIAL SUCESS This module gives borrowers the opportunity to learn about their specific private loan terms through practical exercises. The exercises are designed to encourage the borrower to assess their spending habits and use their private loan funds wisely. BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE NEED FOR MODULES To provide students financial guidance every step along the path toward higher education. Helping students learn how to manage their money, pay for college, repay their student loans, and build a solid foundation for their financial future. Particularly with the unprecedented rise in student loan debt, it's critical that today's students be well educated about financial issues. They must take full advantage of financial aid programs, borrow wisely, be credit savvy, and make it across the finish line of student loan repayment. That's what led to the creation of the TG Student Financial Education Program. The program built this robust curriculum of modules to positively influence the financial behaviors of students and families. The focus of the

program is to help learners build a basic level of knowledge to manage day-to-day challenges and reach their financial goals leading up to, during, and after attainment of higher education.
