BROOKLYN TWEED JOB OPENING Supply Chain Specialist Summer 2015 POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a qualified Supply Chain Specialist in Portland, Oregon for a full-time position beginning in late August 2015. The Supply Chain Specialist functions as the primary liaison between Brooklyn Tweed and all of its US-based manufacturing contacts: fiber sources (brokers, ranchers, etc.), spinning mills, dye houses and scouring facilities. This position is responsible for analyzing, maintaining and growing all yarn production processes at Brooklyn Tweed. The Supply Chain Specialist will work closely with our Business Development Officer and Wholesale Specialist to create and implement both short- and long-term strategies for Brooklyn Tweed s yarn production needs as a growing business. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits. The Supply Chain Specialist will work Monday through Friday from Brooklyn Tweed s headquarters in NE Portland. We are seeking candidates with a high level of organizational skills and strong work ethic who are team players and interested in working for a growing small business in the handknitting industry. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Liaison for all manufacturing contacts mills, dye houses, scouring facilities, ranchers, fiber brokers, etc. Tracks and manages all of Brooklyn Tweed s yarn inventory in real-time (including both in-production and sale-ready inventory) Maintains regular schedule of monthly ordering with yarn mills Plan for yarn expansion, using sales data from previous years Regular inventory assessment and management of all yarn lines Maintains sales data for company yarn sales weekly, monthly & yearly Works closely with Brooklyn Tweed s Business Development Officer and Bookkeeper on production budgeting and finances Coordinates and plans production for special projects (large fiber shows, customer collaborations, designer collaborations, specialty orders, etc.) Works closely with Creative Director when new yarn lines are in development provides feedback, researches pricing and availability, maintains development logs for all new and in-progress yarn lines Establishes formal pricing structures for new and existing yarn lines; monitors and maintains pricing based on market cost fluctations in fiber and domestic manufacturing rates Prepares, discusses and presents upcoming order proposals with management Coordinates production timelines with Creative Department for new releases, collection launches, special projects, etc. Manages shade card inventory and places orders for new inventory on an as-needed basis Reviews invoicing for completed monthly spin orders and maintains Invoice Summary for budgeting Reviews and monitors inventory change log each month for accuracy; conducts semiannual inventory counts to verify accuracy of data JOB OPENING: Wholesale Specialist Page 2 of 5
