Creating New Test Sessions Session Management opens March 14, 2016 Session Management opens February 8, 2016 1. Go to Test Management>Manage Test Sessions 2. Click New Session to go to the New Test Session screen. 3. Enter the session details. 4. Click Save after entering all session details to save the new session. Demo creating new test session now. 5
Spring 2016 Non-Writing Term Graduates Students pursuing a Standard or an Advanced Studies Diploma who are scheduled to graduate by August 31, 2016, and who need certain verified credits in order to graduate are considered to be Term Graduates for the Spring 2016 Non-Writing test administration. Students pursuing a Modified Standard Diploma who are scheduled to graduate by August 31, 2016, and need to take the Grade 8 Reading and/or Mathematics tests to verify literacy and numeracy requirements are also considered to be Term Graduates for the Spring 2016 Non-Writing test administration. 6

Spring 2016 Writing Term Graduate Forms Matrix For a Term Graduate student (a student attempting to graduate by August 31, 2016) or a Project Graduation student, select the Term Graduate Context when creating the online test session and select the appropriate form. Term Graduates and Project Graduation students that need a second attempt may test during the 2 nd Opportunity Test Window. During the 2 nd Opportunity Test Window, a second form may be assigned to these students using the TG Main 2 nd Attempt, TG Audio 2 nd Attempt, and TG Read Aloud 2 nd Attempt form group types found under the Term Graduate Context. 9

Audio vs. Read Aloud Audio Student listens to audio with a headset test questions are pre-recorded. Audio forms of online tests do not include audio test directions and audio for the sample item. Audio begins on question 1. Form numbers include 90 in the Form/Form Group Type once the session is proctor cached. Adding Students to a Test Session Click the session name on the Manage Test Sessions screen to go to the Session Details screen. Click Add Students Select View By: Groups or View By: Students. You can verify or change the Form/Form Group Type for individual students by clicking Edit on the Session Details screen. 13
Removing Students from a Test Session Click the session name on the Manage Test Sessions screen to go to the Session Details screen. Select the check box for each student who you want to remove, and then click Remove. Click Yes-Remove Students on the confirmation screen. 14
Moving Students to Another Test Session Click session name on the Manage Test Sessions screen Select the check box for each student to be moved. Students with Submitted, Processing, Completed, or Marked Complete status cannot be moved to another session. Click Move to go to the Move Students screen. Note: If you create a new session, the School, Context, Test to be Administered, and Read Aloud values are carried over from the previous session. 15
Adding or Changing Assigned Form Groups Click Edit on the Session Details screen to go to the Edit Session Details screen. Two methods to assign form group type to students in the session. Assigning same form group type to all students Assigning different form group type to individual students 16
Modifying Proctor Caching Settings for an Entire Session Proctor caching updates to students who already have a configuration Changes made to the TestNav configuration on the Test Setup > Configure TestNav screen will automatically be applied to all students in a session, but the new configuration will only take effect for each student the next time they log in. Any students logged in when the change is made must then log out and back in for the new configuration to be applied to those students. 17

Proctor Caching Computer/TestNav Settings continued TestNav Configurations can be created at the Session, School, and Division level. If a student needs a unique configuration, the student can be placed alone in a session and a unique session configuration can be created. 21

Viewing Students not Assigned to a Session Report showing students, who have been registered for a test, but not added to a session. 23
Authorizations Click Authorizations and select the authorizations type in the drop-down list. Student Authorizations Examiner Authorizations (for Read Aloud test sessions) Allows a test proctor to log in and view the same test that the students are taking. Seal Codes If a test has a seal code, the link will be enabled in the Authorizations drop-down Four-digit seal code 24

Viewing Currently Scheduled Sessions Click Currently Scheduled Sessions on the Manage Test Sessions screen Filter on columns to refine list 28
Starting and Monitoring Test Sessions Click Start on the Session Details screen. After a session is started, students can log in and begin testing. Monitor the status of students in the session. To refresh a student s testing status Click the Refresh icon in the Status column of the student list on the Session Details screen. 29

Viewing or Modifying Students Test-Specific Data Click the student s name on the Session Details screen to go to the Student Test Details screen. Click Edit and make the modifications. Update Accommodations, Retest, Recovery, etc. 31
Resuming a Test Select the check box for the student on the Session Details screen. Click Resume Test. You cannot resume a student who has a Ready, Resumed, Resumed-Upload, Submitted, or Marked Complete status. 32
Marking a Test Complete Select the check box for the student on the Session Details screen, click Mark Test Complete to go to the Mark Test Complete screen. Reason needed Multiple students Individual students 33
Stopping a Test Session Click Stop to stop the session. You cannot stop a session until all students in the session are in Completed or Marked Complete status. A session does not stop until you click the Stop button. 34
