Truly Living Well is excited to announce our Summer 2016 Internship Positions. These positions offer opportunities to those looking to exchange meaningful service for meaningful experience in a variety of academic and professional areas. All summer intern positions are part time, unpaid positions that flexibly run from June through August and require a 10 hour weekly work commitment. Our internship program offers training, career building activities and a variety of professional networking opportunities. We also work with universities to support class credit and other academic programs. In addition, interns will receive a free weekly CSA as courtesy for service. Community Liaison Intern (Old Fourth Ward) Focus Area:Nutrition Education, Community Building, Advocacy, Outreach, Community Engagement, Strategic Partnership Building, Asset Mapping/Research. Support the increased awareness about TLW's senior food programs and to collaborate with senior service agencies to assess needs and to deliver nutrition and fitness (gardening as life long activity) information to seniors Identify new people/ communities where hunger exists and work both internally and externally to galvanize resources and address hunger Food Co op Organizer Intern Location: Atlanta, Georgia Focus Area: Economic Empowerment, Advocacy, Program Coordination, Community Outreach/Engagement, Research, Grant Writing. Duties/responsibilities Assist with providing training, advocacy, direction and support to empower community members to manage the Boulevard Food Cooperative Assist with organizing and coordinating urban agriculture and nutrition programs to support health, wellness and access to fresh food Use resource mapping, partnership building, and community organizing techniques in order to identify opportunities to develop new co ops in low income communities in Atlanta where hunger is of major concern Work with Food Co Op Coordinator to research and write grants and proposals in order to fund co op operations Assist with at least one fundraiser in order to support resources for co op Resource Development Associate Intern Focus Area: Research, Grant Writing, Data Analysis, Corporate Partnerships, Foundation Relations, Donor Cultivation. The Truly Living Well Development Associate Intern will work to increase the organization s capacity to fund programs and services that provide access to healthy food, promote food security and decrease incidence of hunger through both traditional and innovative development activities Work to establish new partnerships and contacts to increase program funding opportunities Use strategies such as: attending community meetings, referrals, web/database searches in order to research and identify potential funders and partners Assist with composing letters, proposals and other correspondences to support development activities Assist with collecting and analyzing community demographic data to help Development Associate and Director strategize impactful funding opportunities

Urban Grower/ Young Grower Program Coordinator Intern Focus Area: Urban Farming, Program Development & Evaluation, Research, Resource Mapping, Strategic Planning, Community Partnership Building, Recruitment, Marketing. Truly Living Well s Urban Grower and Young Urban Grower Programs use urban agriculture to increase food security, provide access to healthy food and create economic empowerment among low income adults and children Assist with the evaluation of current urban grower and young urban grower programs to help develop a valued and appealing program to serve as a national model Assist with researching and developing innovative tools that connect children and adults to urban agriculture Help with developing strategic plan to gain full program accreditation for the Urban Growers Training Program Help form partnerships within businesses and farming community to employ TLW urban agriculture graduates Help coordinate and design a focus recruitment process that cultivates a pipeline to those interested in participating in urban agriculture Garden/Health Educator Intern Focus Area: Nutrition Education, Community Outreach/Engagement, Public Health, Gardening/ Urban Farming, Workshop Development, Volunteer Coordination, Program Evaluation, Strategic Planning. The TLW Garden/ Health Education Intern will work to increase receptivity to healthy food consumption and gardening as source of affordable produce and lifelong exercise Work with youth, seniors and adults to improve behavior towards food and nutrition in order to mitigate chronic diet related diseases Help provide information, facilitate education sessions and hands on demonstrations to promote gardening and health Help design/ organize experiences at farmers markets, food co ops, and community workshops Help collect data to further study the SNAP program and to develop culturally sensitive intervention to increase consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables assist educating volunteer groups at on site tours/ demonstrations

Assist with evaluating and updating youth and adult program curriculum used to teach urban gardening with a focus on improving public health Promote wellness outcomes to local health agencies, schools, and community organizations Help establish best practices and procedural methods to ensure effective development of all program evaluations and identify areas of improvement for curriculum documentation Farm Operations Administrator Intern Focus Area: Research, Urban Agriculture, Record Management, Community Engagement, Resource Development, Strategic Partnership Building, The Farm Operations Administrator Intern will work with farmers, new growers, and volunteers to improve effective operations that lead to increased food production Assist with researching and implementing best practices and integration of volunteers, interns and apprenticeships Help assess and evaluate current agricultural maintenance structure and to identify farming best practices Research tools that can be utilized to monitor and track crop planting and productions Assist farmers and new growers in understanding systems for sustainability in farm operations Work to create effective partnerships to grow operations and leverage resources for sustainable Communications Intern Focus Area: Media, Public Relations, Marketing, Research, Journalism. Assist with building a social media presence for TLW that will engage a cross section of the community in which we serve (low income, SNAP users, donors, government, local food movement, market goers, farm to table community, non profit community, and other food/agricultural players Research and recommend platforms, tools, and strategies to enhance TLW s social media presence Support building marketing activities to attract new clients to our weekly farmers market and educational offerings to increase revenue. Work to engage staff and volunteers to use social media to support TLW growth and development Work with Communication Specialist to create reports and develop promotional materials Assist with attending organizational events and using photos and videos to document stories, successes, activities for sharing via social media platforms

Graphic Designer Intern Atlanta, Ga. Focus Area: Web/Graphic Design, Network Development, Capacity Building Help create compelling and marketable digital and graphic designs for the organization. Assist in the management of social media accounts and website content/design updates Assist with managing, enhancing, and updating the current marketing materials of the organization Help create brand imagery and content promo videos for the new urban farm Help manage, enhance, and update current programming brand identity REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/QUALITIES Experience with Photoshop, In Design and/or Final Cut Pro (OR) compatible programs/software Proficient in Microsoft Suite Products Ability to work in a team environment Ability to work comfortably in highly diverse, cross departmental teams Excellent collaboration skills Strong project management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Must be well organized, detail oriented, and consistently reliable
