Equotion Working with Equotion
Working with Equotion This how to guide has been pulled together to help new users get the most out of the Equotion system. Part of this is to make sure that you understand what it is that Equotion does for you and then how best to utilise this information. What Is Equotion Equotion is a kind of form analysis that looks at racing results over the past 7 years and produces a number of performance metrics for horses, jockeys, courses, race types and conditions. By analysing these 500 million data points across each field in each race, Equotion is able to produce an expected finishing order for that given field. We then run a series of optimisation algorithms to determine how much you should bet on which horses based on your own spending profile. From the analysis of any given days racing we publish a number of tips. Quick Picks is the top ten scoring winning tips for the day Full House is our top pick from every race that day Turf Accountant is the top three winning tips for each race Pro-Investor is the full field result for each race Basic Advice First of all, get yourself a number of online accounts. BetFred, SkyBet, Tote and PaddyPower are a good start but there are also many others. Finally, get a BetFair Exchange Account. Anyone who is serious about making money with on the nose betting should have an Exchange account set up. Then subscribe to The Racing Post they have an odds view that shows you the best odds on any horse in each race every day. A great reference tool. Talking about odds, the earlier you bet, the better the odds will be. So try and schedule ten minutes each morning around the time we publish the tips so that you can get your bets on before the wisdom of the crowd catches up and you miss out. Finally, decide how much you can afford to place into your betting account and transfer the money. You should put three times the amount you want to bet everyday into this account and never take cash out until you are over this limit. This ensures that you are able to bet evenly and consistently every day. Key Things to Remember Equotion is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It is a long term investment in the sports betting marketplace designed to deliver consistent returns over time. If you bet large on a bad day and small on a winning day you will lose money. You have to stay in the game for a reasonable period of time, betting consistently and not being tempted to double down on losses or walk away from the table. Our stats prove that over time you will generate a return but it also shows there are periods where you will lose this is why we suggest you maintain a betting balance that is 3x your daily stake it keeps you in the game! Horses are living, breathing and thinking animals that have their own plan on how the day will work out jockeys have the occasional off day heavy going, rain, cold and other environmental conditions can impact if the race
actually will finish the way it should. On that basis only gamble within your limits and remember it is supposed to be fun! Working with Quick Picks When you log into the Quick Picks screen you will see a view showing you the selection performance over the last 30 days. Generally this is very strong and we have never had a 30 day period where we have failed to make a profit. Beneath this view are yesterday s Quick Picks results and, after 10.30am each morning, todays predictions. We are completely open about our results and performance and will always share the bad day s data along with the good days. In the Quick Picks box you will see the time and course of our selection, the horse we have selected and its early price (the odds available at 7.30am that morning). You will also see a Bet column. This is the bet multiplier, based upon our optimisation analysis. Add up the total number of BET s shown (today is 35), divide your available balance by this number and then multiply this by the BET number for each horse. So a balance of 350 would mean 10 per point and a horse with a BET 4 means a 40 stake. this way. All of our returns are based on betting on the nose. You can bet each way which means when you would have returned a win, you win more and often when you would have lost, you break even. Bear in mind however that an each way bet will double your exposure (or half your unit price) and it is possible to return much less in terms of a percentage profit betting in We recommend the Betfair Exchange as a platform for all on-the-nose betting (always placing a WIN and a PLACE bet on the exchange, rather than each way you will get better returns) OR selecting the bookies offering the best each way deal (quarter or fifth odds) on any given day. Throughout the course of the day we will update the results with Winning Selections coloured GREEN, 2 nd place coloured BLUE and 3 rd coloured RED making it simple and easy to follow your progress. Returns are listed at Starting Price and your returns (from the 10.30 time or from the Exchange) should always beat this number.
