CAPELLA RANGE The CAPELLA range is a series of electronic modules intended for vehicle classification systems in toll-plaza lanes, and serve as the interface between the sensors and a data processing unit. These modules collect the information provided by the various types of sensors (electromagnetic loops, piezo-electric and resistive sensors, photo-electric cells, etc.). The CL module processes these signals, and provides a simple and comprehensive classification solution. Fitting and pre-wiring of the modules in a CPC case offers the possibility of a readyfor-use system. Characteristic of the range : Ease of Installation : Mounted on DIN rail, they are fitted with terminals for connecting up the sensors and PC links. the terminal layout of each module is indicated in diagram form on the front panel. Activation indicators ease maintenance operations. Modular : Users can select modules according to the required application configuration. Isolation - protection: Using a series of modules from the CAPELLA range guarantees galvanic isolation (1500V RMS) between the sensors, the power supply network and the PC links, thereby offering protection to equipment fitted further up line. Environment : Storage temperature : - 40 à + 80 C Operating temperature : - 25 à + 70 C Relative humidity <95% without condensation
CAPELLA RANGE CAPELLA BCL Electromagnetic loop detector. This provides either a calibrated pulse and/or a pulse proportional to the presence time of the vehicle. Frequency, sensitivity, and presence time can be set from the front panel. CAPELLA CP-2 Detector for two piezo-electric sensors. This generates a calibrated pulse per detected axle, overcoming problem of rebound and vibration. When an axle is detected, the output photo-coupler transistor conducts and the corresponding indicator lamp lights up. The unit operates from a 24 V DC supply. CAPELLA CR-2 Detector for two resistive sensors. This generates a pulse with a duration equal to the activation time of the sensor. when an axle is detected, the output photocoupler transistor conducts and the corresponding indicator lamp lights up. Operation if from a 24V DC supply..capella TOR-2 Detector for two '0 or 1' signal. This generates a pulse with a duration equal to the activation time of the input signal. A micro-switch enables the module to be used either in positive or negative logic. The lamp indicates an active input state (contact closed or transistor conducting). Operation is from a 24V DC supply. CAPELLA CL Classification module. This unit operates from a 24V DC supply. From the information coming from the CAPELLA detection modules (a maximum of 12 sensors), it provides the category of the vehicle detected both via an RS-232C link and a display. The unit also provides 'vehicle presence' information on a photocoupled output and on a green lamp. A red lamp indicates a classification error and its nature is given on the display. The three available '0 or 1' output as well as the vehicle categories can be changed to suit to the requirements of the customer. As an option, the RS-232C can be replaced by an RS-485 link.
CAPELLA CR-2 MODULE The CAPELLA CR-2 processes signals coming from two resistive sensors. It produces a pulse with a duration equal to the activation time of the sensor. When an axle is detected, the photocoupler output transistor conducts and the corresponding lamp lights up. Operation is from a 24V DC supply. CAPELLA TOR-2 MODULE. The CAPELLA TOR-2 processes two '0 or 1' signal (dry contact, open collector, photocoupler). It produces a pulse with a duration equal to the activation time of the input signal. A micro-switch enables the module to operate either in positive or negative logic. The lamp indicates an active input state (closed contact or transistor conducting). Operation is from a 24 VDC supply.
