Upgrade of Business Systems Data Warehouse Reporting The Business Systems Data Warehouse Reporting System was upgraded to a new version of Business Objects the weekend of December 12 th. The current system will be available until May 15, 2009. The link to the new version will be https://edwrpt.campus.cu.clemson.edu:8443/infoviewapp/logon.jsp You can get to this link through Blackboard or from the cubs web page www.clemson.edu/cubs. The links for the old version will remain on these sites until May 15, 2009. When you first log into Infoview the display may appear to be a little different, but everything is still there, you just may get to it in a different way. Some helpful instructions are in the following pages but a quick list of some of the differences is as follows: - Some of the menu items are now buttons instead of icons, this will make it easier to identify the menu item needed. - All preference selections are included on one page instead of having to go to different tabs. Still make sure to click OK for the system to accept any changes. - To navigate to Public Folders, double click on the Document List (either on the menu or in the list of folders.) - To navigate down through the folders, double click on the folder names until the reports are listed to the right. In the old version you had to click on the + sign until you got to the bottom folder. - To view the latest instance of the report, double click on the report name. The report will be displayed in the InfoView portal or in a separate window depending on how your preferences are set. - To view historical instances or use other options, right click on the folder name or use the button displayed in the menu above the report listing. - Not all the User Favorites folders have been moved to the new version. If you are missing any folders, please let us know at dwhhelp-l@clemson.edu - All Daily Reports have been added to the new version and are running daily as well as in the old version. The monthly historical reports have been migrated to the new system.

If you have questions about how to do something in the new version look at the following pages. If your question is not answered below or you are having any problems please email DWHHELP-L@CLEMSON.EDU and state that you are using the new version and what question you have. Detailed Instructions for Using Business Objects Infoview. The Infoview login screen will be displayed after entering the url. Verify that the authentication is set to LDAP. Enter your Novell userid and password and click Log On

After logging in the main menu screen will be displayed. As you can see the look is different from the previous version. In the top right hand corner you will see a Welcome and your userid as well as buttons for setting preferences and logging out of the system. To the left you will see the Home button that will take you back to this screen and a document List button that will display a list of folders that you have access to. To change your Preferences, you may click on the Preferences item below the Personalize menu or click on Preferences below your userid. The main things you will want to change under Preferences are what you would like to see when you log onto Infoview and the Crystal report settings. Let s click on Preferences to see the options available.

The preferences look like they did in the old version except they are on one page. To select a specific folder to display after logging on to Infoview, select the button beside Folder and click on Browse Folder

Click on the + sign beside Public Folders until the folder you would like to display when logging on is displayed. Then put a check in the box next to the folder and click OK

You can also select which items are displayed for a report as well as if you want to view the report in the Infoview portal or in a single fullscreen brower. You can also select the number of reports that are displayed on one page. Then make sure you click OK

To set the Preferences for Crystal reports, open the Crystal reports option in the preferences. We have found that the settings in the screen shot below work best. Make sure to click OK in the bottom right hand corner after making the changes to the settings.

The security options for your internet browser may also need to be changed to allow downloads to your computer. In IE7, go to Internet Options under Tools and click on the Security Tab. Then Click on Custom Level. Next, make sure the settings for ActiveX controls and plug-ins are set as displayed on the following screenshots.

Next, Click OK and then click on Yes you are sure you want to change the settings. Then Click Ok again.

Viewing Reports In the new version of Business Objects, when navigating to a report you can double click on the folder name to display the folders below the one you are currently displaying. In the previous version, you had to click on the + beside the folder to display the folders below the current folder. By double clicking on the name of the report, the latest instance will be displayed.

Navigation within the crystal report is the same as before and you should be able to export and print the report as before. To view historical instances of a report, click on the report name and then do a right click to display Actions. You can also highlight the report name and click Actions in the Business Objects menu.

Click on: View Latest Instance - display the most recent run of the report. Properties - view information about the report. View runs the report. This options display for System Run Reports but Users will get an error as they are not allowed to run these reports. Users are allowed to run reports under the folder Finance User Run Reports. History - Show previous run instances of the report Organize Lets you create a shortcut to the report in your favorites folder - Click on Organize and create shortcut then go to your favorites folder and click Organize and paste shortcut.
