Forest Management Plan Templates The following templates as described in the Forestry Schemes Manual 2011 can be used in support of all scheme applications as described in the scheme documents 2014-2020 until further notice. An online Management Plan will be developed by the Department following recommendations from the COFORD Forest Management Plan Working Group. Registered Foresters will be informed as soon as this online system is available and existing templates will be replaced as soon as the online system is developed. This new system will assist forest owners in the management of their forests. For the purposes of the afforestation schemes the timing of submission of management plans has been changed where forest owners can now submit a management plan at year 12. Premium payments will stop at year 11 until a forest management plan has been received.

Decide to remove or partly remove conifers from mixtures before broadleaves are suppressed. Tending of broadleaves may also be required. Apply to the Forest Service for a general felling license before thinning Market timber for sale and monitor volume removed. Owners should consider a cooperative approach when thinning. Larger volumes will improve the sale and marketing of timber. Advice is available from a number of organisations.
