Executive Committee E. Hunter Harrison Chief Executive Officer Mr. Harrison is the Chief Executive Officer of Canadian Pacific Railway Limited and Canadian Pacific Railway Company (CP). He joined CP in 2012. Mr. Harrison served as President and Chief Executive Officer at Canadian National Railway Company (CN) from 2003-2009 and as the Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer from 1998-2002. He served on CN s Board of Directors for 10 years. Prior to joining CN, Mr. Harrison was President and CEO at Illinois Central Corporation (IC), and Illinois Central Rail Road Company (ICRR) from 1993-1998, during which time he was also a member of the Board. Mr. Harrison held various positions throughout his time at IC and ICRR, including Vice-President, COO and Senior VP of Operations. Before his time at IC and ICRR in 1989, Mr. Harrison served as Burlington Northern s Vice-President of Transportation and Vice-President of Service Design. Mr. Harrison has served as a director on several railway companies and industry associations, including The Belt Railway of Chicago, Wabash National Corporation, The American Association of Railroads, Terminal Railway, TTX Company, CN, IC, and ICRR. Keith Creel President and Chief Operating Officer Keith Creel was appointed CP s President and Chief Operating Officer in February 2013. Providing strategic leadership and driving superior customer service and operational excellence across the organization, Keith is responsible for the Operations and Marketing & Sales functions at the railway. Prior to joining CP, Keith was Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer at Canadian National (CN). He held various positions at CN including Executive Vice-President, Operations, Senior Vice-President Eastern Region, Senior Vice-President Western Region, and Vice-President of the Prairie Division. Keith began his railroad career at Burlington Northern Railway in 1992. He also spent part of his career at Grand Trunk Western Railroad as a Superintendent and General Manager and at Illinois Central Railroad as a trainmaster and director of corridor operations. Keith obtained a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Jacksonville State University. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School. Keith has a military background as a commissioned officer in the US Army.
Guido De Ciccio Senior Vice-President Operations, Western Region Guido De Ciccio was appointed Senior Vice-President Operations, Western Region, in July 2013. Guido is responsible for CP s Western Canadian field operations, including train servicing and car repair. In this key role, he is strongly focusing on train performance and overall fluidity of the Canadian franchise. Guido began his career with CP in 1976 as a summer student in the mechanical department. He held several positions in marketing & sales, including Manager Customer Service, before transitioning to operations. In 2000, Guido was the Superintendent (SAM) for Montreal and the North East U.S. He held the position of General Manager, Eastern Operations in 2004 and Assistant Vice-President, Eastern Operations in 2007. In February 2010, he was appointed Vice-President, Canadian Operations. Guido holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University in Montreal. Bart Demosky Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer As CP s Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, Bart Demosky is a key member of the senior management team responsible for helping plan the long-term strategic direction of the company. In addition to providing strategic leadership and driving superior financial performance for the organization, Bart is responsible for financial planning, reporting and accounting systems, as well as pension, treasury and tax. Prior to joining CP, Bart served as Chief Financial Officer for Suncor Energy Inc., a role he d filled since 2009. He held various other executive positions at Suncor, including Senior Vice-President business services and Vice-President and Treasurer during his career there, which began in 2006. Bart brings to CP over 25 years of senior financial, strategic, operations and risk management experience. He holds a bachelor s degree in economics from the University of Calgary and is an honours graduate from the University of Calgary s Management Development Program. He currently serves on the Board at SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) where he chairs the Audit Committee.
Peter Edwards Vice-President Human Resources and Labour Relations Peter Edwards was appointed Vice-President, Human Resources and Labour Relations in August 2010, responsible for the integrated function across North America. Prior to joining Canadian Pacific in 2009 as Vice-President Human Resources, Peter held senior positions at Labatt Breweries/Interbew and Canadian National Railway. He has also co-authored two books on managing a changing railway ( How We Work and Why and Change, Leadership, Mud and Why ) to establishing individual employee performance scorecards. Peter also co-authored Switchpoints: Culture Change on the Fastrack. He currently serves on the Boards of the School of Industrial Relations and the Centre for Industrial Relations at Queen s University. Peter holds an undergraduate and Master of Industrial Relations degrees from Queen s University in Ontario. Paul Guthrie Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary Paul Guthrie is responsible for the day-to day provision of legal services to the company in Canada and the United States. Paul is also responsible for the Enterprise Risk Management, Government Advocacy, Internal Audit, and CP Police functions. In previous lives, he has been a British Royal Marine and a Bermuda Policeman. A graduate of Queen s University and Osgoode Hall Law School, Paul practiced law with the Calgary firm of MacLeod Dixon until 1990 when he joined CP s legal department. Paul has a wide variety of experience in legal matters having represented clients at all levels of courts in Canada. Prior to his current position, Paul was CP s Vice-President Law and Risk Management.
Robert Johnson Senior Vice-President Operations, Southern Region Robert Johnson was appointed Vice-President Operations, Southern Region, in June 2013. Robert is responsible for CP s U.S. Operations, Southern Region, which stretch from North Dakota to Michigan and include the properties formerly operated by the Soo Line and Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern railroads. It serves the key gateways of Minneapolis; Chicago; Milwaukee; and Kansas City, Mo. Our U.S. Midwest network connects with our Canadian network at three border crossings. Robert joined CP following a 32-year career with BNSF Railway and its predecessors. His various management roles there included overseeing the Seattle-based Northwest Division as general manager, and running the Barstow, Calif., and Phoenix terminals as Superintendent. Robert also spent two years as BNSF s General Director Service Excellence, in which he chaired a team that studied operating practices at terminals around the system, then implemented best practices system-wide. Tony Marquis Senior Vice-President Operations, Eastern Region Tony joined the senior operations leadership team in June 2013. Tony brings nearly 30 years of railway operating experience with him. After spending 25 years with Canadian National Railway Company in various operating positions, Tony moved on as owner and President of Strategic Training Simulators Inc. STSI designs, builds, and installs locomotive simulators, and provides computer based training in the railroad industry. Most recently he successfully completed a corporate turn-around at Colombiabased coal railroad, Fenoco S.A. As President and Chief Executive Officer, Tony reduced Fenoco S.A. s operating costs per ton of coal by 24 per cent and dramatically improved safety at the railroad in less than a year.
Scott MacDonald Senior Vice-President Operations (System) Scott MacDonald was appointed Senior Vice President Operations (System) in October 2012. Scott is responsible for all transportation functions across CP s network, including train dispatching, crew management and, car and locomotive fleet distribution. His current focus is on further improving safety, service reliability and effective cost control. Scott joined CP in 2003 as Director, Locomotive Maintenance. After holding the position of Service Area Manager - Mechanical, he was promoted to General Manager, Operations followed by Assistant Vice-President roles in Operations and Transportation before being appointed Vice-President, Transportation in October 2010. Prior to his career at the railway, Scott spent 13 years with the Canadian Forces as an Aerospace Engineering Officer and seven years with GE Transportation Systems as a Locomotive Repair Service Area Manager and as a Marketing and Sales, National Account Executive. He holds a Mechanical Engineering Degree with Honors and a Masters of Engineering in Thermal Power. Michael Redeker Vice-President, Chief Information Officer Michael Redeker was appointed Vice-President, Chief Information Officer (CIO) in October 2012, previously holding the position Chief Information Officer at ATB Financial. As CIO, Michael is responsible for redefining CP s future strategic information technology (IT) roadmap, improving asset utilization, market growth, shipment management, and employee productivity. With over five years at ATB, Michael completed an end to end technology upgrade and replacement program. He also spent 11 years at IBM Canada, where he focused on delivering quality information technology services within the financial services industry. Michael is a graduate from Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Mark Wallace Vice-President, Corporate Affairs and Chief of Staff Mark Wallace was appointed Vice-President, Corporate Affairs and Chief of Staff in September 2012. Mark is responsible for the Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, Investor Relations, Facilities and Real Estate functions as well as overseeing the efficient operations within the President and CEO s office. Mark plays a key leadership role in helping strengthen CP s cohesive approach to core business planning and corporate affairs and in delivering on the company s strategic objectives. Mark joined CP as Chief of Staff in July 2012. He spent over 15 years in various senior management positions with Canadian National Railway Company (CN). At CN, Mark led the Public Affairs function in both Canada and the U.S., and prior to that, he was the Chief of Staff in the Office of the President and CEO. He also worked in Investor Relations for over 6 years. Prior to joining CP, Mark worked in Toronto as a consultant in a corporate communications firm and before that as Head of Investor Relations for Husky Injection Molding Systems. Mark is a graduate of Laurentian University. Executives John Brooks Vice-President of Marketing and Sales - Bulk John Brooks is Vice-President of Marketing and Sales - Bulk for CP and is currently based in Minneapolis, MN. John was appointed to this position in May of 2014. Prior to this, John was CP s Managing Director - Grain and Grain Products. John began his career in railroading 20 years ago when he hired on with the Union Pacific in Omaha, NB. John left UP for the opportunity to help start up a shortline railroad, I&M Rail Link, LLC ( IMRL ). John has held various commodity responsibilities in his marketing and sales career including coal, chemicals, hazardous materials, petroleum products, metal and scrap metal products and forest products and now grain. Before joining CP, John was Vice-President of Marketing and Sales for the DM&E railroad, and was closely involved the transactions around the sale of the DM&E to CP in 2007. He holds a B.A. in Finance from the University of Northern Iowa and a minor in Real Estate Finance.
Tommy Browning Vice-President of Marketing and Sales - Energy & Merchandise Thompson (Tommy) Browning was appointed as Vice-President of Marketing and Sales - Energy & Merchandise for CP in January 2014. Tommy s railroading experience spans 25 years, and he has worked in several marketing and sales roles during his career. Prior to joining CP, Tommy worked for CN Rail in a number of senior positions, including Director of Network Operations and AVP Grain, Coal and Fertilizers. Tommy came to CP in July of 2013 when he was appointed as Managing Director - Energy & Chemicals. In his current position, as Vice-President of Marketing and Sales - Energy & Merchandise, Tommy is responsible for the overall strategy and direction of the Energy & Merchandise group. The merchandise portfolio includes a range of products such as finished vehicles and automotive parts, chemicals and plastics, crude oil, forest products, metals, minerals, and consumer products. Marty Cej Assistant Vice-President, Public Affairs and Communications Martin (Marty) Cej is responsible to maintain the strong lines of communication among CP s various audiences, both internal and external. Through his relationships with top media outlets in North America, Marty will continue to grow CP s brand, reputation, and business. Marty brings extensive experience in media relations and corporate and financial communications to the role. His background includes senior roles with the Business News Network (BNN), the Globe and Mail, Bloomberg. He has most recently lead the branding and communications for Crossfit Inc.
James Clements Vice-President Strategic Planning & Transportation Services James Clements was appointed as Vice-President Strategic Planning and Transportation Services in June 2014, previously holding the position of AVP Strategic Planning. James is responsible for interline, and revenue forecasting along with strategic planning duties. James began his career at CP in 1994, and has broad experience across several facets of CP s Marketing and Sales group. James spent several years in the grain group in Winnipeg where he worked as CP s Manager of Network and Facilities, and Director of US Grain Marketing and Sales. His portfolio includes positions in Finance, and senior positions in Car Management, and Mines, Metals and Aggregates. Before being appointed as AVP of Strategic Planning, James was CP s AVP of Commercial Performance in Marketing and Sales. He has a Bachelor in Computer Science and Mathematics from McMaster, and holds an MBA in International Business and Finance from McGill. Jacqueline Coyle Vice-President Network Services Jacqueline Coyle was appointed Vice-President, Network Services in June 2014. She is responsible for the planning and implementation of CP s new Network Service Centre, the accompanying service format, and she continues to look for new processes and technologies to improve how we provide service to our customers, employees, and communities. Jacqueline joined CP in 1996, and has held many positions within the Marketing and Sales group including International Auto Marketing, Product Design, Process Improvement, and Service Delivery. She has also held senior positions as GM of Service Management and GM of Customer Service before being promoted to AVP Customer Service in 2013. Jacqueline is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario.
Mathieu Faure Vice-President Marketing & Sales - Intermodal Mathieu Faure was appointed Vice-President Marketing & Sales - Intermodal in October 2012. He is responsible for leading CP s Intermodal marketing and sales activities, which include Domestic North America and International Import/ Export. These activities represent approximately 26 per cent of CP s freight revenues. Prior to being appointed to his previous role in 2010 as General Manager Canadian Pacific Logistics Solutions & Market Development, Mathieu held increasingly senior commercial roles in the Domestic Intermodal and Potash and Fertilizer sectors of CP s business. Before joining CP in 2006, Mathieu was General Manager of a North American transportation company. Mathieu was also involved with a growth company in the transportation sector for over a decade. Mathieu received an MBA from École des Hautes Études Commerciales in Montreal in 2003 and is a Certified Management Accountant. He is also a graduate of the High Potential Leadership Program at Harvard Business School. Mike Foran Vice-President Network Transportation As Vice-President of Network Transportation, Mike is responsible for CP s operations center in Canada, Service Design and Infrastructure, Asset Management (car and locomotive), Locomotive Distribution and Crew Management groups. Since joining CP in 1997, Mike s experience includes positions within Marketing and Sales, Customer Service, and leading the U.S. grain group in Winnipeg. He also spent time in the energy portfolio before moving to roles in Production Management. Prior to his current appointment, Mike was GM of Asset Management, and AVP of Network Transportation.
Nadeem Velani Assistant Vice-President Investor Relations Nadeem is responsible for managing the Company s relationship with the financial community. As the primary liaison with investors, Nadeem helps communicate the Company s long-term strategic vision, provides guidance and ensures effective dissemination of Company information. Nadeem joined CP in March 2013 following 15 years with Canadian National Railway Company. Nadeem initially joined CN s management development program before moving to positions of increasing responsibility in Strategic & Financial Planning, Investor Relations, the Office of the President and CEO as Chief of Staff as well as Sales and Marketing. Nadeem previously served on the Board of the Quebec chapter of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA in Finance/International Business from McGill University.
