10.00-10.50 Workshops Room Asamblea Visual storytelling, making story s that stick In this workshop Onno will explain the basics of visual storytelling. How do you getyour message across in an engaging and compelling way. The participants themselves will create storyboards of the projects they are working on, making this masterclass a practical hands-on experience. Onno van der Veen, Zeeno 30 persons Room Oxford 16 Stretching the mold: new approaches to dissemination. There s more to dissemination than papers & academic conferences. Society has changed immensely, and communication with it. You can reach new, larger audiences and increase the quality of your research by working with the community, using tools readily at hand. This workshop will stretch your options by giving some examples and challenge you to apply them to your own work. But we create a better architecture for the web. We break the package deal»you get our app, we get your data remote Storage, a cross-origin data storage protocol separating application servers from data storage. We want to improve the web infrastructure by separating web application logic from per-user data storage: Users should be able to use web services they love but keep their life stored in one place they control a»home folder for the web«. At the same time, application developers shouldn t need to bother about providing data storage. We also believe that freedom on the web is not achieved by freely licensed web applications running on servers you can t control. That s why applications should be pure Javascript which runs client-side, all in the browser. Those who consider to think about the internet technology platform see it as a mostly that rock solid public perception of the internet lies a growing maze of constantly evolving standards brought to life by a hardworking community of many thousands of researchers and developers.
