CHAPTER 1: WELCOME TO CITUS CLOUD LOAD TEST 1. WHAT IS CITUS CLOUD LOAD TEST? Citus Cloud Load Test is a web-based performance testing tool for simulating users activities with a web-application or web-service. It is used to build Tests that send requests to your server in the same way that a user's browser does. But these tests are executed by our automated system rather than by real users, so they can be done repeatedly and in large numbers simultaneously. Citus Cloud Load Test is a cloud-based application based on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure with fully supported auto scaling so you can test your system with no limit to the number (min or max) of Virtual Users per test. It provides flexible, powerful and cost-effective and very easy to build test scenarios. 2. WHY CITUS CLOUD LOAD TEST? Easy to use Using Citus Cloud Load Test does not require high technical skills as the user interface has been developed to be as user-friendly as possible. A detailed User s Guide will be provided after you purchase Citus Cloud Load Test. If you need further support, please refer to Chapter 5: Information and Contact in the guide, our professional technical team will guide you throughout your experience with Citus Cloud Load Test. Comprehensive reports By simulating the traffic load the same way real users access your website, Citus Cloud Load Test will give you accurate information on how your website would perform with a given traffic load. Before proceeding to the next chapter, you are assumed to have obtained the EC2 with Citus Cloud Load Test AMI from Amazon Web Services with your Amazon account. In addition, you will need to configure your system s security group. 4
CHAPTER 2: SETTING UP 1. FIRST-TIME CONFIGURATION AND CREATING AN ACCOUNT When running Citus Cloud Load Test for the first time, the system will need to be configured. At the verification page: Fill the fields with your EC2 instance ID. Click Next. The application will check to be sure that you are the legal owner of this EC2 instance. This will be displayed only one time. In the Organization Info page, fill all of the information to continue. 2. SIGNING IN Complete the field with the registered email and password. Click Sign In when finished. 5
CHAPTER 3: CREATING & MANAGING YOUR TESTS 1. CREATE TEST To create a new test: Click Test & Reports on the Header menu. Then click Create Test from the drop-down menu. You will need to fill the information for your test in Create Test page: 6
Name Your test s name. The name must be different from the existed tests. Description (Optional) A summary of the test. Number of Virtual Users The desired number of users simulated to test the system. Ramp-up Period The time allowed to build up to the maximum virtual users. Peak Time The duration of the test when the number of users reaches its maximum. Test Urls Your test urls (i.e. http://www.yourdomain.com). Authentication Currently Citus Cloud Load Test support two authentication modes: Form Authentication and HTTP Basic Authentication. GET/POST The method of your requests When finished, click Submit. To go back to tests list without saving, click Cancel. 2. EDIT TEST To edit: In the All Tests page, click the test name. 7
Change the information as needed the same way as creating a test. When finished, click Submit. 3. RUN TEST To run a test: In the tests list page, click the button Run. In the Run Test page, you can setup parameters of this run tasks (Number Of Virtual Users, Ramp-Up Period, Peak Time & Test Urls). You can start to run immediately this test or set any schedule to run. 8
4. VIEW A REPORT To view a report of a Test: In the All Tests page, click the Reports button. In the Reports page, click on the report name to view. The information of the test will be shown in the following graphs: 1. Summary for Test Report 9

CHAPTER 4: MANAGING USER ACCOUNTS CREATE, EDIT AND DELETE ADDITIONAL USER ACCOUNTS You can manage your user account. As an administrator, you can also manage other users account. Go to System on the Top menu and click User Management. To create a new user: Click Create New Fill the fields with the user s Name and Email. Choose the role: o Administrator: can manage users and tests. o Tester: can create, edit and run tests. o Vistors: Can only view reports. 13
Click Submit when finished. To edit accounts: Click Edit. Change the information as needed. Click when finished. To delete an account: Click Delete. Click Delete if you want to remove the test. Otherwise, click Cancel. 14
