Site Analysis / Research STEP 1: In Illustrator open your class-02 file _ go to the main menu File _ Export STEP 2: from the Export window set the Save as Type to: AutoCAD Drawing (*DWG) _ Save the file in your class-03 folder as your: initials_site_diagram.dwg 1 STEP 3: from the DXF / DWG Options window check on: Scale Lineweights _ click OK STEP 4: open AutoCAD _ click on the Big A _ select Open (Ctrl+O) _ browse for your: site_diagram.dwg 3 2 4 1

STEP 5: from the AutoCad Alert window click on Yes to convert text STEP 6: from the Open Foreign DWG File window _ click on Continue opening DWG file STEP 7: type Units _ Enter _ change type to: Architectural _ click OK STEP 8: type LA (layer manager) _ Enter _ click on the snowflake to thaw the layer Base Map _ click on the lock to unlock the layer 5 7 Note: the drawing that you created in Illustrator was not to scale. Homework Assignment 03: Finish tracing the rest of the site to complete the Site Plan. Your drawing should show the sidewalks, bike paths, running paths, boat docks, trees, and roads to the extents shown in the image below. Each of these Layers of information should be drawn on an individual Layer. Design a simple building Footprint similar to the one created in the in-class exercise. Include: Arch 125 Class 03 Your Name Before next class upload the finished JPEG to your web page (see the class-01 tutorial p.4).
