Project was implemented in stages from 8/13 12/13. Measured Performance Actual Electrical consumption was reduced ~ 1,538,700 kwh with an increased Tech Load of 170 kw (~489,600 kwh).
LEUP 2012 Project 6 VFD s on chillers at the CDC. Project started 5/14 and is underway with 3 of the 6 VFD s completed. Savings results of a single chiller was measured at commissioning (before and after VFD installation) to have 26 kw less consumption at identical loads. This represents approximately a 10% reduction in power and exceeded the estimated 8% reduction in power during original analysis. ROI calculated for project indicates pre-tax nominal payback of 3.15 years. Initial measurements indicate project is on track to exceed expected payback.
