COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC The Board values and encourages public comment on educational issues. Anyone having an interest in actions of the Board may participate during the open forum portion of the meeting. If possible, please identify yourself, prior to the meeting, to the Board President or Superintendent. Should your comments

include a question, it may not be possible to provide you with the information you request at the meeting. The speakers may offer objective criticism of school operations and programs, but the Board will not hear complaints about school personnel or other persons at a public session. Other channels provide for Board consideration of complaints involving individuals. Participants must be recognized by the presiding officer and must preface their comments by an announcement of their name, address and group affiliation, if and when appropriate. Each statement made by a participant shall be limited to five (5) minutes duration. IX. FINANCES Resolution # Routine Items recommended (may be handled as one motion). (Exhibit 2) Permanent Appropriations and Revenue Estimates for FY14: Approve permanent appropriations and revenue estimates for FY14. (Exhibit 3) Health Care Insurance Rates: Approve and accept the following monthly health insurance rates as set by the Suburban Health Consortium for the 2013-14 plan year effective October 1, 2013. X. NEW BUSINESS A. Resolution # Personnel Items Recommended: Accept all of the following administrative, certified and classified personnel recommendations, conditioned on statutes of the state as revised and consolidated into general provisions, titles, chapters and sections including all bills passed and filed contained in the Ohio Revised Code, as recommended by the Superintendent. The following personnel items may be handled as one motion: ADMINISTRATIVE/SUPPORT Resignation/Retirement: Accept the resignation/retirement of Joy Clickenger, Treasurer, effective December 31, 2013. Employment: Per resolution # 2013-63 (2) authorize full-time employment of Sheila Loeding as Nursing Instructor in the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center Practical Nursing Program, effective October 1, 2013 through July 31, 2014, on a one-year, limited contract for up to 185 days (prorated to 155 days), plus applicable holidays at Teacher/Coordinator, Step 3, per the Administrative, Support and Classified Exempt Employees Compensation and Fringe Benefit Policy. Disposal of Inventory Items: Approve the disposal of varied inventory items as listed on Exhibit 6. Associate District Substitute Teacher Costs: Approve reimbursement of up to $100 per day per substitute teacher for associate district teaching staff, who attend CVCC Guidance Committee tours during the 2013-14 school year. XI. OTHER BUSINESS A. Resolution #Overnight Field Trip: Approve a student overnight field trip for Dental Assisting students, instructor and chaperones to attend the Chicago Mid- Winter Dental Convention in Chicago, IL, February 20 through 22, 2014. Cost of the trip will be covered through the Student Activity account funds, with students, instructor and chaperones responsible for any out-of-pocket costs associated with the trip that are not covered by the Student Activity account. The trip is subject to cancellation by the Superintendent dependent upon world events. 5

B. Resolution # Overnight Field Trip: Approve a student overnight field trip for Public Health and Safety students, instructor and chaperones to attend the Fire Department Instructor s Conference in Indianapolis, IN, April 10 and 11, 2014. Cost of the trip will be covered through the Student Activity account funds, with students, instructor and chaperones responsible for any out-of-pocket costs associated with the trip that are not covered by the Student Activity account. The trip is subject to cancellation by the Superintendent dependent upon world events. C. Resolution # Amend Resolution #2012-93 Administrative, Support and Classified Exempt Policy Revisions: Authorize amending Resolution #2012-93 Administrative, Support and Classified Exempt Policy Revisions to include the following changes to the policy: 1.) Reinstate Article 6 Salary and Additional Compensation: Attendance Incentive (only) effective July 1, 2012. 2.) Reinstate Article 8 Retirement Benefits: Retirement Stipend sections to include those who retire on or after July 1, 2012 but on or before June 30, 2015. D. Resolution # Student Affiliation and Partnership Renewal Agreement with Southwest General Health Center: Approve renewal of a Partnership Agreement with Southwest General Health Center effective September 2013. Terms set forth in Contractual Agreement between the School of Nursing at Cuyahoga Valley Career Center and the Southwest General Health Center. (Exhibit 7) 6
