2/26/2013 Fiscal Year 2013 (July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013) $60,000 budget PennDOT s state-wide Local Roads and Bridges Inventory Program DVRPC s role (in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties) Complete inventory of local roads (not presently on the liquid fuels taxallocation rolls) Complete inventory of bridges (8 to 20 in length) located on local roads Received training (program purpose, logistics, and equipment), and initiated the Tri-County Area inventory as DVRPC s regional pilot Tri-County Area Inventory (Figure 1 initial scale of the effort) 120 miles of local roads Table 1 Database attributes for roads, streets, etc. 165 bridges located on local roads Table 2 Database attributes for bridges Perform rolling inventory in the study area (5 weeks in November & December 2012) 3

2/26/2013 Tri-County Area Inventory 300+ man-hours of field work Visited each site Performed measurements, and data entry for public facilities Completed inventory, and data-upload on December 14, 2012 (PennDOT closed the data-entry portal later that day for QA/QC) Current Activity PennDOT State-wide QA/QC check continuing PennDOT data-entry portal reopened Results available after all county-level data is collected, up-loaded, and reviewed by PennDOT Results to be announced by PennDOT Local Roads upon request (through DVRPC) Bridges via PennDOT website (in development) 4

2/26/2013 Current Activity DVRPC Petition PennDOT for LR&B Program s database design and records for the Tri-County Area Research PennDOT s existing management system databases, and rating methodologies RMS pavement conditions BMS bridge sufficiency ratings SAMS traffic signal systems Research existing Municipal asset management systems, databases, and rating methodologies Fiscal Year 2014 (July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014) $60,000 budget Research asset management systems (continue), performance measures, improvement histories, cost data, etc. Build linked GIS-Database, and develop qualitative rating scales Work with Tri-County Area municipal staff to acid-test rating scales, and assign ratings Formulate municipal improvement and implementation programs Deliver summary reports and tools; Report to PMRPC 5
