Services Modern Languages Department The Modern Languages Department enables you to study French, English, German or Spanish. Languages are taught in two specific buildings: B5 and SUP/SUAIO. Two self-service language resource centres are available to students who want to improve their language skills. Career Service In the SUP/SUAIO building, you can also find Pass Pro, a special office dedicated to professional orientation and finding jobs/internships. Seminars are organised throughout the year to help students with CV and application letters. You can also find a large area reserved for documentation, information on careers, jobs and an area dedicated to the modelling of entrepreneurial culture and kick-off starting young businesses called the Hubhouse. Disabled Service If you are disabled or have a serious illness, the student s life office can help you in many ways (help with administrative procedures, with the organisation of courses, of exams, etc). Don t hesitate to contact this office before your arrival. Societies and Clubs There are over 60 clubs and societies on the university campus. Thanks to these associations, you can meet other French students. Ask for the directory of clubs and societies ( Annuaires des associations ) when you arrive at the University of Lille, Science and Technology. Summer Schools Each summer, international students can take part in summer schools on the campus. The aim of these intensive programmes is to learn or improve French language knowledge and learn more about French culture. Visits in the region are organised. These courses are open to every international student. Bachelor Business Administration (BBA) 08.09 Economics and Management Management University School of Management Bachelor in Business Administration 1 year (60 ECTS) Exchange students accepted Two years of higher education or a working experience. Long life learning students can apply for the programme on conditions. Erasmus students must be in a Business administration curriculum in their own university. Others can be without experience or education in Business Administration. This programme is completely in English. A good command of English is required. Proof of proficiency must be provided (TOEFL, TOEIC, ). Basic knowledge is recommended for better integration in French life. French language training will be provided by the University of Lille, Science & Technology. The Bachelor in Business Administration is a one-year programme of courses in English, on the main domains of Business Administration and management (Organizational Behaviour, Accountancy, Marketing, Information systems, Firm economics, Finance management, Management and entrepreneurship, Human Resources Management). The programme includes two internship periods and the writing of a bachelor dissertation with supervision (mentoring). Each course is credited in the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). This programme is offered to non French students, to French students interested by a curriculum in English, and to middlemanagers. Graduates can work in any types of services (banking, telecommunications, accounting firms, ) or persue higher education. This programme is part of the French National University System, which is widely subsidised by the State. Bachelor Economics & Management (International Major) Economics and Management Economics, Management Economics and Social Sciences Bachelor degree 3 years (180 ECTS) Exchange students accepted Students with scientific or economic curriculum. Students should have a good level in English language. A good command of English is required. This programme is bilingual (English-French). Students should have a good command of both languages. This programme with selective admissions criteria is made for students with a good level of English and who would like to open their mind to the European and international dimensions of the economy in the spirit of the European high schools. It is also aimed at students who would like to embrace international careers. The students are immersed in a group of international students who take English courses. Half of the classes will be taught in English. Finally, it will be easier for students who have completed the international bachelor programme to pursue higher education abroad within European (ERASMUS+) and international mobility programmes. They will also be able to join international Master programmes, here in Lille, or abroad. Students involved into this programme will be invited to pursue their third year abroad. Bachelor Life Sciences (bilingual) 10.11 Science, Technology, Health Biology, Life Sciences Biology Bachelor degree (B. Sc.) 3 years (180 ECTS) Exchange students accepted Students with high school diploma/a-levels in science (honors grade) and a good command of the English language (European level B1-B2). A good command of English is required (European level B1-B2). This programme is bilingual (English-French). Students should have a good command of both languages. This bilingual programme is open to students with a good level in English who wish to pursue their studies with an international master degree even a doctorate. This programme is not designed for students who want to prepare for teaching, engineering or geoscience careers. The aim of the programme is to help students master a scientific language and develop their skills (scientific, international) with certificates like international and research label. Classical lectures are taught in French while supervised classes (in smaller groups) and practical works are taught in English. Students are encouraged to participate to study abroad programmes during their studies (Erasmus +, international exchange programmes). This programme is part of the French National University System, which is widely subsidised by the State. Physical and Analytical Chemistry Science, Technology, Health Physical Chemistry of Chemistry Master degree 2 years Two specialities - Advanced Spectroscopy for Chemistry or Atmospheric Environment - are offered in second year European and International students accepted through exchange programs The programme is targeting all students holding a diploma worth 180 ECTS credits (Bachelor, Licence or equivalent) in the fields of Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry or Physics. Students must have a good command of English, at least equivalent to the B2 level (independent user) of the CEFRL (Common European Framework of Reference for languages). A proof of English proficiency should be provided. Not required for the programme, but basics are helpful for everyday life. French courses are available throughout the year. The programme intends to make students become experts in Physical Chemistry by teaching them the fundamentals in theoretical Spectroscopy and improving their skills through solid practical works. While acquiring a specialised know-how within cutting-edge facilities, they will develop the necessary methods during research projects in order to pursue in doctoral studies. International culture is also at the heart of the programme, as students look for a worldwide mobility. This programme is part of the French National University System, which is widely subsidised by the State. Advanced Spectroscopy in Chemistry 12.13 Science, Technology, Health Chemistry Chemistry Master of Science / multiple degree European Joint Master Degree (Lille1; Alma Mater University, Bologna; Jagiellonian University, Krakow; University of Helsinki, Finland; Leipzig University, Germany). Admission of exchange students is possible upon request to the coordinator of the course. No double degree in this frame. 2 years (120 ECTS) Application for admission in the ASC programme is entitled for students holding a Eurobachelor in Chemistry or equivalent education in the field of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry and Physics. European and non European students can apply. Proof of English proficiency must be provided (TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS ). minimum level: equivalent to B2 (independent user) of the CEFRL (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Basic knowledge is recommended for better integration in French life. French language training will be provided by the University of Lille, Science & Technology. The ASC network aims at preparing students to become experts and develop international skills towards doctoral studies, and/or professional industrial careers in chemical analysis and characterization of the structure of materials. A mobility scheme ensures that, in addition to high specialization and access to state of the art technologies, students will do a common core curriculum of studies in different higher education institutions throughout Europe. Atmospheric Environment Science, Technology, Health Chemistry and Physics of the Atmosphere Chemistry, Physics Master Degree 1 year (60 ECTS) Exchange students accepted The programme is open to students who have earned 240 credits (or equivalent) in a study programme in chemistry, physics or chemical physics. A good command of English is required. Proof of proficiency must be provided (TOEFL, TOEIC, ). No specific requirement. Courses in French are offered (beginners or more advanced learners). The programme is dedicated to physicists and chemists wishing to follow a specialization in atmospheric sciences to get a strong background in theory and practical works. It is supported by the French Laboratory of Excellence CaPPA (Chemical and Physical Properties of the Atmosphere). A large selection of research projects are proposed by the Laboratories involved in the Labex. Fellowships are available for students having the highest academic records (7000 /year). This programme is part of the French National University System, which is widely subsidised by the State. Chemistry, Biorefinery 14.15 Science, Technology, Health Chemistry, Biochemistry Chemistry 1 year (60 ECTS) This programme is open to students in chemistry and/or biochemistry having validated 4 years of study (Master 1st year / Bachelor / 240 ECTS-credits) in Biochemical, Chemical Physics or Chemistry. Students should provide a certificate of English proficiency (TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS) with a score equivalent to B2 in the Common European Framework. Students can also create their own Europass Language Passport for self-assessment. Students coming from an institution where courses are taught in English can provide official certificate issued by their home university. Basic knowledge is recommended for better integration in French life. French language training will be provided by the University of Lille, Science & Technology. This Master is providing a 1-year programme in chemistry and biochemistry. It is supported by the French Laboratory Unité de Catalyse et Chimie du Solide (Lille France). Training is dedicated to students in chemistry and biochemistry having validated 4 years of study (Master 1st year / Bachelor / 240 ECTS-credits), wishing to follow a specialization in researches focus on biorefinery environment to get a strong background in theory and practical works. Students are immersed in an international environment and all courses are delivered in English. The first semester (Sept-Jan) is dedicated to lectures/practical works, and the second semester (Feb-Jul) is a full-time research training in Laboratory. This programme is part of the French National University System, which is widely subsidised by the State. Students intending to apply for this programme are required to hold a bachelor in technology or equivalent degree in the field of mechanical eng, electrical and electronics eng, industrial informatics Students should provide a certificate of English proficiency (TOEFL or equivalent score) Even though the level in French will not be a selection criterion, the candidates are required to specify their level of French on their CV. French language training will be provided by the programme. The International Master MRT is designed to train international students interested in developing their professional knowledge and skills in engineering sciences, and more specifically in the areas of autonomous robotics and intelligent transportation systems (automobile, aeronautics). Electrical Engineering and Sustainable Development 16.17 Science, Technology, Health Engineering Computer Science, Electronics, Electrotechnics and Automation Master Degree 1 year (60 ECTS) Exchange students accepted The programme is opened to students who have earned 240 credits (or equivalent) in a scientific university study programme. A minimum B2 level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required. Proof of proficiency must be provided (TOEFL, TOEIC, ). Basic knowledge is recommended for better integration in French life. French language training will be provided by the University of Lille, Science & Technology. This Master degree is focused on methodologies for design and for energy management in order to: - Increase the insertion of the renewable energy for the production of electricity and for the use of future transportation systems. - Improve performances of electrical systems in terms of efficiency and reduction of disturbances. This master degree aims at contributing to a more sustainable use of energy resources and greater interest in environmental concern. It is taught in English in order to provide the students with the necessary skills for international jobs. High Performance Computing and Simulation, Advanced Scientific Computing Science, Technology, Health Mathematics, Computer Science Mathematics Master Degree 1 year (60 ECTS) Exchange students accepted on conditions The programme is open to students who have earned 240 ECTS (or equivalent) in a scientific university study programme or have obtained a Bachelor Degree with Honors in the areas that could be accepted by the Academic Board of the Programme to be equivalent. French language training will be provided by the University of Lille, Science & Technology. This master degree in High Performance Computing and Simulation offers a top rate international interdisciplinary training year in applied scientific computing. It is designed for postgraduate students who wish to specialize in modeling, numerical simulation and supercomputing. Students will have free access to computer facilities dedicated to high performing scientific computing and the latest computational tools. This master prepares students to become fully qualified engineers or research and development engineers in various sectors such as car industry, aeronautics, space research, nuclear energy, environment, fossil and renewable energy.
