FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES Q.1- What are the Courses offered by Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) in Ans-Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) in University of Delhi offers the following courses: MBA (Full Time)-Two Years MBA-Executive (Full Time)-Two Years (Evening Programme) MBA-Executive HCA (Full Time)-Two Years (Evening Programme) Management Development Doctoral Programme Q.2- What is the procedure to get admission in MBA (Full Time) programme conducted by Faculty of Management Studies (FMS)? Ans- The admission to Faculty of MBA (Full Time) programme shall be based on personal interview, group discussion and CAT- score (Common Admission Test) conducted by Indian Institutes of Management as per schedule. Applicants may visit www.catiim.infor appearing in the Common Admission Test (CAT).Applicants who have not taken CAT shall not be considered for admission. At least 50 percentile score in each section of the CAT is required by a candidate to qualify for being short-listed in Group Discussion/or Interview. Registration for admission shall begin tentatively in the month of September-December, as per the notification of University of Delhi. Candidates may visit the website of Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) i.e. www.fms.edu and apply online. Applications shall be received only through the online registration process. Q.3- What is the basis to prepare the merit list of MBA (Full Time) programme in Ans-The merit list shall be prepared on the basis of the total percentile rank and sectional percentile rank scores declared in the result of CAT (In the year of admission) test. At least 50 percentile rank score in each section of the CAT is required by a candidate to qualify for being short-listed in Group Discussion and Interview. The percentile rank shall be calculated on the basis of the category of the candidate. Q.4- How many seats are available for MBA (Full time) programme in Ans- The total seats available for MBA (Full time) programme is two hundred (200). Unreserved: General (101) Reserved: OBC (54) SC (30), ST (15). Seats for PH, CW and FS are supernumerary as per the rules of University of Delhi. Note: Seats are subject to change by the University of Delhi. Q.5- What are the different categories of seat for MBA (Full time) programme in Ans-: The different categories of seat for MBA (Full time) programme in University of Delhi are as follows: Unreserved (General) Scheduled Class (SC) Scheduled Tribe (ST) Other Backward Class, non-creamy layer (OBC) as listed in central OBC list

Q.6- What is the eligibility criteria for MBA (Full time) programme in Ans- The eligibility criteria for two-year full-time MBA programme is as follows: Candidates applying for admission to the MBA full-time programme must have pursued at least a three-year Bachelor's Degree programme after twelve years of formal schooling in any of the following disciplines. The minimum requisite percentage of marks in different disciplines is as follows: Arts, Commerce or Social Sciences- 50% Sciences- 55% Mathematics or Statistics- 60% Medicine, Engineering or Technology- 60% / CGPA of at least 6 on a scale of 10 OR Post Graduate Degree or Second Degree examination after 10+2+3scheme, securing at least 60%marks. Relaxation in the minimum eligibility shall be allowed only to candidates of the following categories (SC/ST/OBC/PH/CW) as per the existing rules of University of Delhi. The candidates belonging to PH/CW are eligible for a relaxation of 5 per cent marks in the minimum eligibility requirement. Candidates belonging to SC/ST should have qualifying marks in graduation degree. The candidates belonging to OBC category are eligible for relaxation in the minimum eligibility to the extent of 10% of the minimum eligibility marks/qualifying marks prescribed for general category. For reservation of other categories, rules of University of Delhi are applicable. Note: Candidates in the final year of Bachelor s Degree/Post-Graduate Degree programme are eligible to apply and appear in the Test, irrespective of their percentage of scores obtained so far, as long as they expect to fulfil the eligibility criteria when their results are declared. (The candidates shall have to provide their final result before 1st October every year). Q.7- Is there any relaxation in the eligibility criteria or cut-off marks for General category candidates in Ans-No relaxation in the eligibility criteria or cut-off marks is permitted for General category in any of the MBA programmes in University of Delhi. Q.8- Is there any other programme offered by Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) in University of Delhi? Ans- Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) offers no other Degree or Diploma programme or any programme based on Distance Learning/ Correspondence/ Weekend classrooms in University of Delhi.

Q.9- What is the eligibility criteria and rules for the Ph.D. programme in Ans- The eligibility criteria and rules for the Ph.D. programme in University of Delhi are as follows: A candidate must have obtained a Master's/ M. Phil. degree of the University of Delhi, or any other recognized University, or a Post-graduate Degree in an allied subject equivalent thereof. She/he must have obtained either a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade in the M. Phil degree or a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in the Master's degree. Candidates having an MBA/Masters Degree in an allied subject from University of Delhi or equivalent would be required to write the CAT 2012 for admission to the Ph.D. programme. Such applicants should have a minimum of two years of experience post their MBA/Masters Degree on the date of writing the admission test. Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree of four years or more, viz. B. Tech. or M.B.B.S., who have obtained a minimum of 70% and 60% marks or equivalent grades respectively, and also have obtained any national level fellowships, are also eligible to apply for the Ph.D. Programme. Permanent teachers of any recognized University/College other than the University of Delhi, employees of a Research Institute in India and candidates sponsored by their employers shall be considered for admission to the Ph.D. programme only if they obtain study leave for a period of two years to fulfil the residency requirements of the Ph.D. programme of the University of Delhi. Q.10- What are the documents required for the candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC)? Ans- Candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) are required to send both caste and noncreamy layer certificate to claim reservations against OBC quota. The OBC candidate needs to apply as General category candidate. However, to be eligible to avail the reservation under the OBC category, the candidate s caste must be listed in the Central list of OBC. Q.11- What is the admission procedure for candidates belonging to PH category in Ans- PH (Physically Handicapped) candidates should apply under PH1 (Visually challenged), PH2 (Auditory challenged), and PH3 (Orthopaedic challenged) and send the certificates accordingly. However, only fulfilling the criteria does not give guarantee to be called for Personal Interview & Group Discussion. Q.12- What is the admission procedure for candidates belonging to CW category in Ans-CW candidates are required to clearly enclose the category of CW, CW1: Widows/Wards of Defence personnel killed in Action, CW2: Wards of serving personnel and ex-servicemen disabled in action, CW3: Widows/Wards of Defence personnel who died in peace time with death attributable to military service, CW4: Wards of Defence Personnel disabled in peace time with disability attributable to military service. CW5: Wards of Ex-Servicemen and Serving Personnel including Police Personnel who are in receipt of Gallantry Awards. Q.13- What is the admission procedure for Foreign Students (FS) in Ans-Foreign Nationals studying in India are required to write CAT and appear for the interview, if shortlisted. Foreign Nationals with Indian degrees (those who are not currently staying in India) are required to submit GMAT scores (minimum score of 650) and Foreign Nationals with foreign degrees are advised to submit GMAT and TOEFL scores. Foreign nationals who are out of India need to apply via their consulate and embassy (with mandatory GMAT scores). All Foreign Nationals seeking admission to MBA/Ph.D. programme should apply through the Office of the Deputy Dean, Foreign Students Registry, Room No.11, Conference Centre University of Delhi, Delhi-110007, India. Foreign Nationals presently studying in India need to apply as

General Category students and are required to qualify to CAT examination conducted by Indian Institutes of Management. Q.14- What is the fee structure for MBA programmes in Ans. The fees for various courses under M.B.A (Prog.) is payable at the beginning of the academic year. The annual fee payable to FMS, University of Delhi is Rs.11, 000* approximately per annum. *Fee is subject to change. Q.15- Is there any reservation for NRI students in Faculty of Management Studies (FMS)? Ans-There is no reservation or quota for NRI students in Faculty of Management Studies (FMS). Q.16- What is the tentative date for holding Group Discussion and Personal Interview? Ans-Group Discussion and Personal Interviews of short-listed candidates shall be held in the month of February/March every year, as per the notification of University of Delhi. Q.17-Is attestation of certificates required in Faculty of Management Studies (FMS)? Ans- Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) accepts self-attested copies of documents/papers provided by the students. It is made clear that if any false attestation/falsified records are detected, the student shall be debarred from attending any course of the University for the next five years. In addition, a criminal case under the relevant section of IPC (viz. 470, 471, 474 IPC etc.) shall be instituted against him/her to subject him/ her to the requisite criminal proceeding. Q.18- Is there any hostel accommodation available for MBA and Ph.D. Programmes students in Ans-Yes, hostel accommodation is available for students pursuing full-time MBA & Ph.D. programmes in the hostel maintained by University of Delhi. However, under the present rules of the University of Delhi, the residents of Delhi are not entitled to apply for highly subsidized hostel facilities. Q.19- Is there any one-year specialization programme in Marketing, Finance or in any other area in Faculty of Management Studies (FMS)? Ans-No, Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi does not offer any programme of one-year duration. Q.20- Where is Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) located in North as well as South campus in Ans- Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) is located within the campus of University of Delhi. The Administrative Office is situated in University of Delhi, North Campus, on Malkaganj Road, in front of Kirori Mal College and behind Delhi School of Economics of University of Delhi. FMS also has its own premise (S.P. Jain Management Centre) in the University of Delhi South Campus (Near Dhaula Kuan, on Benito Juarez Road). Currently one section each of MBA (Full-Time) and MBA (Part-Time) programmes are conducted from the South Campus.
