Page 3 of ETA-12/0045 issued on May 4, 2012 II SPECIFIC CONDITIONS OF THE EUROPEAN TECHNICAL APPROVAL 1. Definition of and intended use 1.1 Definition of the construction Sewatek penetration seal consists of NBR cellular rubber surrounded by PVC plastic. NBR cellular rubber surrounded by PVC is fastened mechanically inside the ABS plastic frame. Purpose of the frame is to keep penetration seal in its planned position during casting of concrete wall or floor. At both ends of the frame there are protective and removable cellular foam plugs. Penetration seal can be a single unit where one NBR surrounded by PVC is in the ABS frame or a modular system where 2 or 3 NBR s surrounded by PVC s are in the same ABS frame. The supporting frame can also be made of steel instead of ABS. Seals installed to ready made concrete structure are single units. After casting the penetration seal, NBR surrounded by PVC ; is surrounded by concrete. The ABS frame is mainly covered by concrete. Removable protective cellular foam plugs at both sides of the concrete structure are visible. Minimum distance between penetration seals is 200 mm (width of concrete between adjacent penetration seals or seal modules). Examples are presented in figures 1-9 in Annex 1. Penetrating s and cables can be installed after hardening of concrete. In ready made concrete structure installations the penetration seal can also be installed around s or cables and then be installed with s or cables into concrete drilled hole with a diameter 82 mm. PVC diameters can vary from 32 mm to 125 mm. Wall thickness is 1,5 or 2,0mm. The sizes are as follows: Diameters of the PVC, mm Wall thicknesses of the NBR cellular rubber, mm 32, 40, 50, 60, 75, 90, 125 9, 13, 19, 25 1.2 Intended use, use category and working life 1.2.1 Intended use The Penetration seal is intended to be used to temporarily or permanent reinstate the fire resistance performance of rigid concrete wall and roof/floor constructions which are provided with apertures which are penetrated by various cables or metallic or plastic s. The minimum thickness of the concrete wall is 100 mm and roof/floor slab 150 mm or 240 mm. The density of concrete shall be at least 2400 kg/m 3. The provisions made in this European Technical Approval are based on an assumed intended working life of the watertight covering kit of 25 years provided that the conditions laid down in this section and sections 5 for the packaging, transport, storage, installation, use and maintenance are met. 1.2.2 Use category The penetration seal is intended for internal use also at temperatures below 0 C, and can therefore according to ETAG 026 Part 2 clause 2.4.12.1.3.3.be categorize as Type Y 2. The meets also requirements of types Z 1 and Z 2.

Page 4 of ETA-12/0045 issued on May 4, 2012 PVC and NBR cellular rubber together with ABS frame are inside the concrete and are also covered with 10 mm mortar or concrete layer at both ends and thus the is not susceptible to UV radiation after installation. 1.2.3 Working life The provisions made in this ETA are based on assumed intended working life of the for the intended use of 25 years when installed in the works, provided that the is subjected to appropriate use and maintenance. An "assumed intended working life" means that it is expected that, when this working life has elapsed, the real working life may be, in normal use conditions, considerably longer without major degradation affecting the essential requirements. The indications given on the working life cannot be interpreted as a guarantee given by the producer or approval body, but are to be regarded only as a means for choosing the right s in relation to the expected economically reasonable working life of the works. 2. Characteristics of and methods of verification The methods of verification and characteristics of the penetration seal evaluated in this ETA are as follows: ETAG Paragraph ER 1 ER 2 2.4.1 2.4.2 Characteristic Mechanical resistance and stability Not relevant Safety in case of fire Reaction to fire, EN 13501-1 Resistance to fire, EN 13501-2 Assessment of the characteristic Euroclass F ( not assessed) EI 15 EI 120 ( in end uses and with the provisions presented in the Annex 1) ER 3 Hygiene, health and environment 2.4.3 Release of dangerous substances *Declaration of the manufacturer ER 4 Safety in use NPD ER 5 Protection against noise 2.4.4 Air sound insulation, EN ISO 717-1 Influence of single penetration seal on R W highest 1 db, when concrete thickness 200 mm ER 6 Energy economy and heat retention NPD Related aspects of durability and serviceability 2.4.5 Durability. ISO 188 and ISO 2440 Test results of exposed specimens show no big changes in properties compared to unexposed ones *In addition of the specific clauses relating to dangerous substances contained in this European Technical Approval, there may be other requirements applicable to the s falling within its scope (e.g. transposed European legislation and national laws, regulations and administrative provisions). In order to meet the provisions of the Construction Products directive, these requirements need also to be compiled with, when and where they apply.

Page 5 of ETA-12/0045 issued on May 4, 2012 3. Evaluation and attestation of conformity and CE marking 3.1 System of attestation of conformity According to the decision 99/454/EC of the European Commission Decision of 22 June 1999 - system 1 for the attestation of conformity of Directive 89/106/EC) applies for the fire resistance performance. All the elements, requirements and provisions adopted by the manufacturer shall be documented in a systematic manner in the form of written policies and procedures, including records of results performed. This ion control system shall insure that the is in conformity with this European Technical Approval. The factory ion control shall be in accordance with the "Control plan of January 15, 2012 relating to the European Technical Approval ETA-12/0045 issued on May 4, 2012 which is part of the technical documentation of this European Technical Approval. The "control plan" is laid down in the context of the factory ion control system operated by the manufacturer and deposited within VTT Expert Services Ltd 5. The manufacturer may only use initial materials stated in the technical documentation of this European Technical Approval. For the components which ETA-holder does not manufacture by himself, he shall make sure that factory ion control carried out by the other manufacturers gives guaranty of the components compliance with this European Technical Approval. The results of factory ion control shall be recorded and evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the "Control Plan". The records shall include at least the following information: 5 The "control plan" is a confidential part of the European Technical Approval and only handed over to the approved body or bodies involved in the procedure of attestation of conformity. See section 3.2.2.
