Zebra LP2844 Printer Driver Installation Guide Setup: DO NOT plug printer into computer yet Remove printer from box. Follow the instruction manual enclosed with the printer to install the power cable and paper into the printer. Plug the printer into a power strip. Leave the Printer DISCONNECTED from the computer for now. NOTE: For Endicia with Monsoon use Zebra Thermal Labels: Part no. 800264-605, 4 x 6 labels available from Monsoonworks.com Solution Central. Step 1: Download Drivers-- Go to the following page on the Monsoonworks.com Solution Central website: http://www.monsoonworks.com/solution_central/product/zebra_lp2488_usb_thermal_lab el_printer Download the printer driver ZUDv55719.exe and save it to your desktop. ZUDv55719.exe Step 2: Install Driver-- Click on the ZUDv55719.exe icon and the below will appear. Click OK. The file extractor will activate and the following window will appear. 1
Click UNZIP. The files will be extracted into a folder called C:\ZUD55719 The following window will appear: Click OK. You will be automatically transferred to the Zebra printer driver setup wizard. The following window will appear: Click Next. On the following screen select ZEBR EPL and Zebra LP2844 as follows: 2
Click Next. You will get the following window. Click Continue Anyway The next window will ask you to select a printer port. Select USB 001. Note: Many computers have multiple USB ports, and your computer will be looking for your printer on just one port. Make sure when you plug your printer in, you plug into USB 001. If USB001 is not clearly marked try the others until your printer works. Sometimes it will take some trial and error to locate the right USB Port. Click Next. Name your printer by accepting: Zebra LP2844 3
Click Next. Step 3: Configure Driver the Configuration wizard will automatically appear on your screen. Click Next. The label setup window will appear on your screen. If you are using Endicia for Monsoon, select 4.00 x 6.00, Portrait and Centimeters 4
Click Next. Select the Dispense Mode action you would like. Most people prefer Peel Off. Cut is not generally preferred. Click Next. The next screen offers just one option Direct. 5
Click Next. On the next screen select Use Label Gaps Click Next. Click Finish. Plug in your printer (ignore the Found New Hardware Wizard for now ) Click Print Test Page Step 4: Troubleshooting-- If printer does not print a test page, shut down your computer and reboot with the printer plugged in. Now you need to set up your printer on Windows. Start by plugging the printer into USB 001. 6
If the following window appears, Click Yes, this time only, and follow the instructions. Once you have completed the wizard use Windows Notepad to test it. You should have reinstalled a printer called Zebra LP2844 (Copy 2). Using Notepad will save expensive tests using Endicia live postage prints. 7
Once you get a successful print out from the Zebra printer you are almost done. Go to the Windows Start menu in the lower corner of your screen and click on Printers and Faxes. The dialog box on the right will appear. Select Zebra LP2844 (Copy 2) and right click on it and select Properties. Under printer preferences you can verify all the settings that you made during the setup wizard while installing the original driver on the screen shown below: Click OK. Now you should be ready to print labels Endicia Labels using Monsoon. 8
General Notes--When Using the Zebra LP2844 shipping label printer with Endicia DAZzle: 1.) When asked by Monsoon if you want to you your own settings, press No and the following label format will be printed by default (recommended use): 2.) When asked by Monsoon if you want to you your own settings, if you press Yes (not recommended), you must select the following settings: 4 x 6 labels: USPS Priority, Media Mail, Parcel Post, or First Class Mail Create a Zebra label template: Click 'File' and 'Open Layout'. Click 'Zebra Label.lyt'. Click 'open'. You will see a 4x6 label on screen set for Priority mail. Set the postage type (Priority Mail, First Class, Media Mail, Parcel Post, etc.) that you want as the default setting for the template. Click the 'Layout' menu and 'Return Address'. Enter your return address and click ok. Click the 'File' menu and 'Printer Setup' to input the settings below. Top First Center After the settings are set save the layout. 'File' and 'Save Layout As'. Click 'Print' and then 'Test Print' to test the template and printer. If this works you are all set, you now have a template for all domestic mail except Express Mail. See the directions for Express Mail if you will be printing Express Mail labels. NOTE: If you have a Premium account and wish to add the Stealth printing so the words 'US POSTAGE AND FEES PAID' print instead of the dollar amount: Open the zebra template you just created. Click the 'Postage' menu and 'Options'. Click 'Premium Service Options' tab. Click ON the box 'use key line Stealth Indicia'. Click ok. Save the template again. Click 'File' and 'Save Layout'. 10
