Core Services Authorization and Evaluation
Synchronized Evaluation Visits with CIS, WASC, and/or NEASC Memorandums of understanding! CIS 2012! NEASC and WASC 2014! What is a synchronized visit?! How does it help schools?! Planned improvements?! IB team chairs recruitment and training!
Multiprogramme Evaluation For schools with multiple IB programmes! Currently a manual process offered regionally! Global process in development 2016! Will include new continuum standard!
Differentiated Authorization Timelines Accelerated Diploma Programme Authorization Acceleration can be requested by established or new/start-up schools. Schools request accelerated authorization before entering candidacy by contactin g the regional office. Schools must meet established global criteria before acceleration will be approve d and must continue to meet the criteria throughout the authorization process. IB staff will make the final judgment regarding approval of acceleration based bot h on the criteria and on their professional experience of similar situations. Schools approved for acceleration will develop agreed deadlines and benchmark s with the regional office. A modest additional fee applies.
!! Groups of Schools In development: Systems organized to provide better visibility of groups and member schools (with full launch of MySchool system); Group level billing (MySchool phase 2). Under consideration: Global process and scaffolding for authorization of programm es within groups of schools; Streamlining elements of authorization for programmes within groups of schools; Account management for groups of schools throughout their relationship with the IB.

School Enhancement Services!!
The School Enhancement Services story so far Differentiated School Services research (2012-2013) 8 services designed (2013); 4 services chosen for full development (2014) and pilot (2015) Building Quality Curriculum (PYP and MYP) Curriculum Connections (PYP and MYP) Strengthening Groups of School Leadership (all) Optimizing Assessment Analysis (DP) Pilots will be completed by the end of this year; services will be refined based on results or taken mainstream. Consideration of additional services to be developed will begin in 2016.
Building Quality Curriculum What does the service aim to do? Provides feedback on written curriculum (MYP unit planner s, PYP programme of inquiry and units of inquiry)! What is provided via the service? Written report commenting on each element of the unit or programme of inquiry, overall school report on common el ement! How is the service provided? Schools upload documents and IB-trained reviewers provid e feedback. The service is provided virtually.
Building Quality Curriculum Pilots 2014 19 schools in Germany, Lithuania, Spain, Switzerland, United! Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Canada, United States, China, Hong! Kong, Mongolia and New Zealand! 2015 46 schools in Australia, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia,! Jordan, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, UK, USA,! Uzbekistan, Zambia! Results 92% found reports moderately or very useful in providing guidance for! teachers regarding how to improve their written curriculum! Next Steps The service will become a mainstream offering in 2016. To meet programme evaluation requirements, MYP schools will have the option of completing Building Quality Curriculum or registering students for the I B MYP Certificate
Curriculum Connections What does the service aim to do? Provides support in making appropriate connections betwee n IB programmes and the local or national requirements that a school, or group of schools, is required to meet.! What is provided via the service? Information, support, guidance, and skill development relate d to making connections with local or national requirements vi a the school s own curriculum development process.! How is the service provided? Support is provided by IB-trained service providers who wor k directly with the school/group of schools.
Curriculum Connections Pilots The service was piloted in 21 schools in Australia, the US, and Canada. The pilot served schools seeking to align the PYP and/or the MYP with thei r local or national curriculum. A second, smaller pilot is being conducted in AEM, with the aim of testing refinements made after the first pilot. Results Schools rated their ability to connect their local requirements to IB programme(s), identify differences, support their staff and communication this information to their school community. After three quarters schools self ratings reflected an average increase of 16.02% across these categories Next Steps The service will become a mainstream offering in 2016.

School Information Systems My School!
The My School system What is it? My School is a school information portal and system that will replace the IB Do cs system, adding functionality and improving user experience. What are the benefits? Improved user experience throughout the authorization and evaluation processes (intuitive process, on-screen help, Standards & Practices based organization) Dynamically populated school action plan, enabling better collaboration wit hin schools and between schools and IB Educators. Ongoing, direct access for both coordinators and heads to update school information, track process and access school documents and plans. Cleaner, more reliable school data My School will populate school information in other key IB systems. Strong foundation for future enhancements.! Have you logged in?

The My School system When will it be ready? The school profile information about authorized schools has launched. The interest form has launched for all 4 programmes. The Application for Candidacy* is projected to launch in January 2016. The Evaluation Self Study* is projected to launch mid-2016. The Application for Authorization* is projected to launch in Q3-4 2016. What do I do now? Authorized Schools: Log in to your school profile, and ask your coordinator to do the same; update school information as needed. Schools entering Evaluation: Look for new online self-study in 2016. Candidate/Interested School: Look for communication about the transition from IB Docs to MySchool by the end of the year.! * The plan for transitioning from IB Docs to MySchool is in development.! Evaluation Enhancements Online self-study questionnaire! Multiple levels of support (help text) available to walk coordinators through process! Increased transparency in how to provide evidence! for practices! New evaluation guide! More informative, easier to understand report! DP includes ATL and CAS updates (CAS monitoring phased out)!!
