AUDIT REPORT Standard 1: The RTO provides quality training and assessment across all of its operations Audit conclusion Result Aged and Community Care Victoria (ACCV) is compliant with the following Elements of Standard 1: Element 1.2 Aged and Community Care Victoria is not compliant with the following Elements of Standard 1: Element 1.3 The organisation has requested to remove the qualification CHC52008 Diploma of Community Services (Case Management) from scope as their training and assessment resources are under development www.training.gov.au confirms removal as of 07/10/2011. Assessment tools provided for CHC40108 Certificate IV in Aged Care; BSB51107 Diploma of Management and BSB40807 Certificate IV in Frontline Management are not consistent with the requirements of the CHC08 Community Services Training Package or BSB07 Business Services Training Package. Refer to more detailed findings regarding these tools in Element 1.5. Element 1.5 Assessment tools are not reliable and do not assist the RTO to collect sufficient evidence in accordance with the Rules of Evidence and Principles of Assessment and the requirements of the training packages CHC08 Community Services and BSB07 Business Services. The mentor is not asked to provide sufficient information regarding their observations to assist with a decision of competence e.g. in what contexts have they observed the employee consistently doing applying these skills/knowledge and attach relevant workplace documentation that can support their claims of observation. Workplace observations for CHCORG406A Supervise Work do not provide sufficient definition/guidance for the mentor e.g. Provides support for the short and long term development of staff and Works with staff using a coaching model to address resource issues, promote a positive culture and good communication within the team and resolve areas of tension and conflict and Provides support for the short and long term development of staff. There is no evidence requested to be supplied to support the mentor s claims. BSB40807 Certificate IV in Frontline Management BSBMGT401A Show Leadership in the Workplace- Provides clear guidance to the assessor regarding the assessment to be conducted including the assessment activities and Assessment Cover Sheet. The workplace observation sheet contains a list of observations that are not defined clearly for the mentor i.e. Role models positive behaviour and performance; Uses organisational KPI s to meet the organisations goals and objectives; Actively involves team members in decision making processes; Accurately assesses risks and communicates these to line managers; Uses feedback mechanisms to monitor the implementation and impact of decisions. The workplace mentor is required to simply tick whether the candidate has performed these actions consistently in the workplace. No further workplace documentation is required to be submitted for evidence purposes from the mentor to support claims and no description is provided as a guide to the workplace mentor to ensure consistency of understanding.
