Overview The Vendor Held Equipment (VHE) Project is charged to ensure assets released to Wireless Installation Vendors, are tracked for the entirety of the vendor held lifecycle. The lifecycle commences upon the release of the asset to the installation vendor, continues while the asset is assigned to the Vendor Warehouse FA Location Number, and completes once there is positive confirmation the asset has either been installed at site or returned to AT&T. The objective is to ensure data accuracy providing location of physical asset held by the Vendor. The current scope for the Vendor Held Equipment project is defined as any Wireless Installation Vendor who performs work by direction of AT&T; and is in possession of AT&T Asset Tagged equipment. (VHE excludes non-tagged equipment) VAST (Vendor Asset Scanning Tool) VAST is a TONGO delivered smartphone app for the ios (iphone) or Android platform. VAST allows the Vendor to immediately update the asset management system once they have installed equipment to or removed equipment from AT&T locations (i.e. a Cell, Cell DAS, COW, etc.) or transferred equipment from one Vendor Warehouse to another Vendor Warehouse. Transaction Type Description Install at AT&T Location Remove from AT&T Location Warehouse to Warehouse Inventory TrueUp Return Evaluation Evaluation Results Asset Lookup Site: Cell, Cell DAS, COW Site: Cell, Cell DAS, COW vendor warehouse bimonthly self-audit Assets to be returned Confirmation ready to return Quick lookup of asset tag
VAST Return (process cartoon) The graphic below shows the process steps for the VAST Return routine. VAST User points to remember Ensure in VAST Preferences has your Vendor Warehouse FA number in Location #1 Vendor to ensure the return email does not go into spam folder Email will be sent to the VAST user requesting return Return email: PROD-OracleERP-NoReply@maillennium.att.com Assumption All assets will need to be scanned with VAST by the Vendor Warehouse All assets to be Returned will be associated to the Vendor Warehouse FA Location Standard LATT Report to include Return statuses
VAST Return: Setup A one time setup is required for VAST Return. Ensure under VAST Preferences, Location #1 contains the FA Location Number of your Vendor Warehouse Location. For multiple Vendor Warehouse FA Locations, User will need to change the Preferences for Location #1 for each FA to view Evaluation Results. Logoff and log back for change to preferences to take effect. (Planned 4Q2015 VAST enhancement to eliminate this step) VAST Return (Vendor scanning routine) An Installation Vendor will return assets to AT&T using VAST, by scanning the asset tags. Returning assets is a two-step process for the Installation Vendor. Beginning July 20, 2015 the VAST scanning app was enhanced to include the ability to scan assets being returned to AT&T. Using VAST to return asset tagged equipment to AT&T, replaces the need to submit an AMF (Asset Movement Form). Non-tagged or non-scannable (eg Retired status) equipment will still need to be processed on an AMF following standard procedure with SCM.
VAST Return: Step 1a identify assets to return After reviewing the assets currently in their vendor warehouse location with their Network Lead, Installation Vendor will scan all asset tags to be returned to AT&T with VAST Return Evaluation routine. (Once the tags are scanned for return evaluation, the CSSL will assume the vendor has already reviewed this equipment with Network for concurrence to return). Self identify assets to be Returned to AT&T by scanning with VAST Return Evaluation. This flags the asset for the Market CSSL to assess and provide disposition instructions back to the vendor.
