AASHTOWare is a unique and powerful enterprise software suite designed by transportation professionals for transportation professionals. States pay an annual fee directly to AASHTO for the use of these programs. The goal of the AASHTOWare program is to provide a mechanism for AASHTO member departments to pool their resources on a voluntary basis to produce mutually acceptable computer software products that are generally not available.
Member States become voting members of an organization called Project Users Group (PUG). The PUG holds an annual conference for States to discuss and vote on changes to be made to the software. The PUG has separate task force groups that meet 4 times per year on each module associated with AASHTOWare.
AASHTO sub contracts the day to day maintenance, upgrade, developing, etc. of the software to a software firm from Florida called Info Tech.
Trns port PES Trns port PES (Proposal Estimate System) addresses the needs during the pre-letting phase of construction. With PES, the user can enter project data, prepare the PS&E estimate for transportation construction projects.
Trns port LAS Trns port LAS (Letting and Award System) addresses the advertisement and award phase of activity. It is designed to aid in advertising proposals, tracking plan and proposal holders, processing bid information, and making award decisions.
AASHTOWare Project Preconstruction Project Precon replaces the existing client/server Trns port modules of Trns port PES and LAS with a web-based product offering similar functionality. In addition to the replacement of the current functionality, features such as simplified installation, a unified database, consolidated security model, workflow/phase handling, a new reporting tool, improved handling of generic fields, and customization features.
Trns port BAMS/DSS Trns port BAMS/DSS provides a complete Trns port historical data warehouse specifically designed to provide decision support in the areas of bid monitoring and evaluation, vendor (contractor, subcontractor, and DBE) and market analysis, item price estimation, and the planning and budgeting process. BAMS/DSS supports interactive drill-down analysis of contract item bids, facilitating faster contract award decisions based on more information at the analyst s fingertips.
Trns port Expedite Trns port Expedite works with PES/LAS and/or Project Precon. It allows bidders(contractors) to receive proposal information including item schedules, DBE requirements, and allows them to enter all information required for a valid proposal and submit item bids in a secure matter.
Bid Express Bid Express is NOT an AASHTOWare Software program but is a program offered by Info Tech free to member States. Bid Express can be accessed at www.bidx.com BIDX is where WV advertises our projects electronically. Every construction project WV advertises is thru BIDX.
Trns port SiteManager (SM) Trns port SiteManager is a comprehensive construction management tool. It provides for data entry, tracking, reporting, and analysis of contract data from contract award through finalization. SM Construction has been fully implemented since May 2012.
SiteManager Materials SiteManager Materials provides recording, tracking, and reporting of material samples and test results from job sites, plants, and test labs. SM Materials is just beginning implementation.
Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) The LIMS system in the SiteManager product integrates the laboratory information management functionality with SiteManager s materials management. This integrates material and lab administration to provide sampling and testing workflow management. System functionality includes the ability to establish a material sample chain of custody, manage access to samples and tests based on qualifications, define standard and alternative sample testing workflows, maintain sample test queues and schedule tests, and audit and track samples.
