TELEMARK UNIVERSITY COLLEGE (TUC) TUC is one of Norway s largest university colleges, with about 7000 registered students. TUC is located in the region of Telemark in the southeastern part of Norway, about 2 hours by train from Oslo. Our university college offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs, including four PhD-programs in selected areas. TUC has a strong focus on attracting international students, and several courses are taught in English. TUC is an internationally oriented university college, with a mission to offer education and research of high quality, founded on regional and national demands. On the 1st January 2016 TUC will merge with the University College of Buskerud and Vestfold, becoming the second largest university college in Norway with about 15 000 students. The new name will be the University College of South East Norway. There are currently 18 research groups at TUC. TUC collaborates with a number of universities and university colleges around the world. In certain areas, TUC produce research of top international quality, particularly in the fields of Culture Policy Research, Environmental Health, and in Process, Energy and Automation Engineering.
FACULTY OF ARTS AND SCIENCES The Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) is located at Bø Campus. The faculty has about 2700 full-time students. FAS covers a broad range of academic fields, facilitating interdisciplinary teaching and research. The faculty has PhD programmes in Ecology and Culture Studies. FACULTY OF TECHNOLOGY The Faculty of Technology (FT) is located at Porsgrunn Campus. The faculty has about 800 full-time students. FT has close links to technological and industrial companies and research institutes. The research and educational programmes at FT have a solid theoretical foundation, combined with a practical oriented approach. Graduates from FT have proved to be attractive candidates for national and international businesses. FACULTY OF ART, FOLK CULTURE AND TEACHER EDUCATION The Faculty of Art, Folk Culture and Teacher Education is mainly located at two different campuses, Notodden Campus and Rauland Campus. However, some courses are also taught at Porsgrunn Campus. The faculty has a strong focus on blended and flexible learning (e-learning). Rauland Campus is a national center for folk art and folk music. FACTULTY OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL STUDIES The Faculty of Health and Social Studies (FHS) is located at Porsgrunn Campus. The faculty has about 1200 full-time students. Nursing education has a long tradition in Telemark, and FHS has developed a solid and well- reputed bachelor s degree in this field. The faculty has also developed two bachelor s degrees in social studies and an interdisciplinary master s degree in Preventive Care with Children and Adolescents.
