Instructor Upon successful completion of Instructor curriculum the student will receive a certificate and be prepared to pass the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology examination for an Instructor License. The 1000 clock hour program is presented as follows: (VA students must complete 1,000 clock hours) All course work meets Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology curriculum requirements as follows: Orientation 60 hours Introduction to teaching and curriculum 120 hours Course outlining and development; lesson planning; teaching techniques; teaching aids; developing and administering and grading examinations 330 hours Cosmetology law, cosmetology school management and record keeping 90 hours Teaching-assisting in the classroom and clinic 150 hours Practice teaching - classroom and clinic 250 hours 1000 hours Full Time Schedule: 35 hours per week Weeks 1-15 Monday - Friday 9am 5pm Approximately half way through the course the schedule for Instructor will change to: Weeks 16-30 Tuesday - Saturday 9am 5pm Part Time Schedule: 19 hours per week Weeks 1-53 Monday 5pm 9pm Tuesday & Thursday 9am 5pm
Advanced Therapeutic Massage 33.5 Semester Credit Hours (900 clock hours for VA Students) The Advanced Therapeutic Massage Course gives students a strong foundation of clinic management theory and procedures required to practice in a clinic or spa setting. This includes instruction in client assessment and advanced treatment protocols such as myo-fascial release, trigger point technique and therapeutic deep tissue massage. Students will also learn allied therapeutic modalities needed to succeed in an advanced clinic setting. All lab / clinic work emphasizes Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology, as well as business and spa management procedures. Upon graduation student will be eligible for entry-level positions in the Massage and Spa industry. Day Schedule: 40 weeks Class meets Monday Friday plus on Saturday a month for clinic Evening Schedule: 45 weeks Class meets Monday Thursday plus one Saturday a month for clinic 9:00am 2pm 5:30pm 9pm
