Organizers are working hard to minimize the inconveniences the routes might pose to residents. The Chrism Mass On the Monday of Holy Week, March 30 th, Bishop DiLorenzo will celebrate the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Richmond. At this Liturgy all the oils used throughout the Diocese will be blessed by the Bishop, and the priests of our Diocese renew their commitment to the priesthood. We will be taking both our Parish vans and invite you to travel with us. The bus will leave at 3:15 P.M. sharp from St. Michael Hall parking lot. Following the Mass there will be time to visit and tour the Cathedral and enjoy a light reception. The bus will return approximately at 9:15. Page 3 March 8, 2015 Children s Faith Formation Kingdom Kids Nursery (1 3 yrs) meets for the duration of the 10AM Mass, every Sunday. KidCheck Account required. Children in the Nursery are introduced to Catholic concepts through Pflaum Gospel Weeklies, which invite children to listen to the Gospel and build Christian relationships. The nurturing staff and volunteers provide a safe, Christian environment for the children in their care. Parents who use the nursery are asked to volunteer about one Sunday per month to keep our Co op Nursery staffed each Sunday at the 10am Mass. Junior & Senior Youth Groups Middle School Retreat: You Never Let Go Every middle schooler needs a day to get away from school, homework, family, etc, to recharge and refocus on their faith and relationship with Jesus. This year, OLMC's Junior Youth Group has a one day retreat opportunity at the beautiful Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton, VA on March 14 th. This retreat will allow the teens to reflect on what it means to live and love God with a childlike faith. Open to grades 6 8, Saturday, March 14, from 9am to 4pm, Sandy Bottom Nature Park (Conference Center), $20 per teen Forms and Money due on 3/11 Forms available online and during JYG. Senior Youth Group meets THIS Sunday, March 8 th, at 6:15pm in St. Michael Hall for Making Prayer Effective, a night on different forms of prayer and practical ways for busy teenagers to pray. Youth Encuentro Retreat is an opportunity for our Hispanic Youth to get to know each other, grow in their relationship with Christ and the Church and develop leadership skills. There will be great speakers, dynamic workshops and activities. This Bilingual retreat will take place on April 18 th and 19 th. During our coldest week of the season your funds allowed for a young pregnant Mother with a two year old to have her power reconnected. She had spent a couple of days away from home due to the temperatures and upon returning the water in her toilet bowl had started to freeze. She was most grateful at the news her power would be restored!!! You are a blessing! Special Thanks...to OLMC School Christian Service Club!! They provided us with 150 sack lunches for our PORT Guests!! The guests were extremely happy with their added touch of keeping the sandwiches from getting smooshed!! Great Job!! Blessings Abound!! Parish Council Meeting All parishioners are welcome to attend the first thirty minutes of regular meetings to address the Parish Council. ANUNCIO DE LA OFICINA DE AYUDA AL NESECITADO Muchas gracias estimados feligreses por su continuo apoyo ofrendando en los Sobres, que son fondos utilizados para los pobres. Durante las semanas más frías de esta temporada, sus ofrendas permitieron ayudaron a que una madre joven, embarazada, y su hijo de 2 años de edad, fueran beneficiados con la reconexión de su electricidad. Ella había salido de su casa debido a la falta de electricidad y las bajas temperaturas, cuando ella regreso a casa nuevamente, el agua de la taza del inodoro se había comenzado a congelar. Ella estaba muy agradecida y muy emocionada al saber que su servicio de electricidad seria reconectado. Ustedes son una bendición! Agradecimientos especiales al Club de Servicio Cristianos de la Escuela de OLMC!! Ello nos donaron 150 bolsas de almuerzo para nuestros hermanos huéspedes de PORT!!
