Students must have Coordinators approval and register through SWIC at the beginning of each semester through Tammy to attend NMT. Cost for all NMT classes is approx $200. Holly Pinto is an Instructor of NMT for the American version. Jan 25-27 and Feb 8 & 9 *Introduction to NeuroMuscular Therapy (NMT) - 32CE hrs Instructor: Holly Pinto, LMT, NCTMB (cost is approx. $200 in district SWIC) Students will discover the history, the roots and branches of NeuroMuscular Therapy and the work of Judith DeLany. In this introduction class students will learn NMT s foundational platform, applications of NeuroMuscular techniques, the methodology for assessing, treating, and preventing soft tissue injuries and chronic pain. Students will gain precise palpation skills, proper use of tools and elbows in preparation for the application of this work. Students must register through Southwestern Illinois College. Feb 22-24 Mother and Baby Instructor: Holly Pinto, LMT - Fri 6-10pm, Sat & Sun 9-6pm $450.00 In this hands-on comprehensive workshop, therapists will enhance their skills beyond general approaches for pregnancy massage. They will learn advanced techniques that specifically enhance pregnant and postpartum women s comfort, health and enjoyment. Practice and receive feedback in deep tissue, passive movement, Neuromuscular, Myofascial release and other Somatic methods modified for emotional and physiological challenges of the childbearing year. March 8 Friday

March 9 Saturday Advanced Stretching Ankles/Feet and Arms/Hands -8 CE hrs 9-6pm - $200 manual included March 23 Massaging Patients with Cancer 8CE hrs Instructor: Holly Pinto, LMT, NCTMB 9-6pm - $200.00 This class will teach massage students how to appropriately work with clients living with or surviving cancer. Comfort-oriented massage touch can be administered to people with cancer regardless of the severity of their condition. This seminar will train massage therapists in the basics of oncology massage. Therapists who focus on hospice and hospital work will also find this seminar to be valuable for their special needs patients. March 30 Reiki I - 8 CE hrs Reiki Master (9-5pm) $175 In this seminar we will discuss what Reiki is, the history of Reiki, the 3 Reiki degrees, the attunement process, the 21 day cleansing process, Dr. Usui's threefold approach to Reiki, the first degree Reiki symbol and how to use it, Reiki hand positions, healer's ethics, the five principles of Reiki, the effects and benefits of Reiki, how to give a Reiki treatment, and the other uses for Reiki along with their lineage. The students will be given the first 4 attunements. They will also be given time to practice giving Reiki to themselves and others as well as receiving Reiki and asked to document any experiences. Any questions will be addressed, as well. April 12-14 and *NeuroMuscular Therapy: Torso and Pelvis - 32 CE hrs April 26 & 27 Instructor: Holly Pinto, LMT, NCTMB (cost is approx $200) the thoracic, pelvic and lumbar area while learning the NMT principles and protocols of treatment of the torso and pelvis. Students must register through Southwestern Illinois College by March 1. April 21

May 11 May 18 May 19 June 1 June 2 Advanced Stretching The Neck and Shoulders -8 CE hrs 9-6pm Equipment and Manual included $275 Reiki II - 8 CE hrs Reiki Master (9-5pm) $250 In this seminar we will review what Reiki is, how it works, the history of Reiki, the Reiki degrees, what is an attunement, what happens during an attunement, how Reiki differs from other techniques, healer's ethics, second degree Reiki symbols and uses, hand positions, the healing session, developing a Reiki practice, documentation. The students will be given 2 attunements and will be given time to practice giving and receiving Reiki. They will also practice documenting sessions. Any questions will be answered as well. Understanding HIV/AIDS 4 CE hrs Instructor: Holly I. Pinto, LMT, NCTMB (9am-1pm) $125 This short course is for all massage therapists who wish to be educated in the methods of transmission and recommended treatments for clients living with HIV/AIDS. Therapist will learn how a massage can strengthen a client s immune system and how to help manage the symptoms of the disease. Many states require continuing education in HIV/AIDS, so it is an important topic in today s society. Therapists will discuss the prevalence, transmission and symptoms of HIV/AIDS. As a result, therapists will learn how to be an integrated part of the client s medical term.
