1 Course Duration & Tuition: The Microlief Equine Microcurrent Certification Training is a 12 hour program spread out over a 3 day period. Course tuition is $600. The tuition includes: Microlief for Performance Horses Manual Manual includes color photos of recommended Microlief protocols Color photos and descriptions of equine acupoints for treating regional areas All wet lab practice Microlief units Microlief Certification Exam 3 Microlief Units to take home These comprehensive courses are designed to educate equine massage therapists and bodyworkers how to responsibly incorporate Microlief into their equine therapy sessions. The courses consist of classroom lecture, field demonstrations and instructor supervised hands-on practice. Successful completion of all the required training modules and the final exam will enable the individual to: Incorporate the Microlief Equine Microcurrent Therapy system into their equine therapy sessions Be recognized as a Certified Microlief Equine Microcurrent Therapist (Certified MEMT) Purchase Microlief products at a discounted cost for use in their equine therapy sessions Apply to become a Reseller of Microlief products*
2 Prequisites: Successful completion of an equine massage training program Students are expected to have a strong working knowledge of equine functional anatomy Students are expected to have strong muscle palpation and evaluation skills Entrance interview and acceptance by Microlief instructors *Reality Check for Resellers of Microlief products Microlief products will be offered at discounted prices to Certified Microlief Equine Microcurrent Therapists. A special Microlief Therapist Kit has been designed to support the therapist using Microlief in their therapy sessions. Therapists may purchase these units at a discounted cost and sell retail to their customers. In order to qualify for discount pricing, therapists must purchase 4+ units at a time. Price discounts are available in these ranges: Discount-1 purchase 4-49 units Discount-2 purchase units Please phone and speak with Lisa to discuss the exact discount values. Therapists may also purchase the Microlief Basic Kit and the Microlief Double Kit at discounted prices to sell to customers. Therapists also may purchase additional Microlief accessories at discounted prices. In order to NOT pay Florida sales tax on your purchases, you must supply us with a copy of your Florida Resale Tax Certificate.
3 Introduction to Microlief (Micro-1) This course is designed to educate individuals in the equine industry about the applications of Microlief as a tool to help prevent and manage the muscular stress and injuries that occur so often in equestrian sports. Microlief has specific applications for: Daily Injury Prevention and Optimal Performance Therapy Competition Preparation and Recovery Injury Recovery and Rehabilitation This three hour introductory course is open to all individuals in the equine industry, including, but not limited to: owners, trainers, riders, grooms, tack store owners, equine massage therapists and bodyworkers, farriers, veterinarians and veterinary assistants and technicians. Individuals seeking general information regarding the applications of Microlief may audit this course. This course is first requirement for individuals aspiring to become Certified Microlief Equine Microcurrent Therapists (MEMT) and Resellers.

Brief history of Microcurrent science and technology development Explain how Microcurrent technology provides direct pain relief to injured cells human or equine Newmark Inc s development of portable, affordable microcurrent technology Newmark Inc s Intellectual Property Patents Newmark Inc s FDA approval as a Class II medical device for Over-the-Counter (OTC) sales Clinical Studies with humans Effectiveness/Safety 2. What is Microlief? Display and explain the product and how it works based on the principles of proven Microcurrent science and technology Explain what the product can and cannot do 3. Microlief Warnings, Safety Precautions and Contraindications for equines and humans 4. Recommended uses and benefits of Microlief for horses Overview of recommended protocols Equine hair coat considerations Secure with protective bandaging 5. Questions & Answers
5 Micro-2 Course Syllabus (5 hours) This course is schedule to begin in the late morning of the same day that the Micro-1 course is held 1. Wet Lab with Microlief product Goal is to familiarize participants with each component of the Microlief unit 2. Lecture Microlief Guidelines and Protocols Teach participants Microlief Standard Procedures for use with horses Discuss treatment guidelines 3. Microlief applications for: Stimulating Equine acupoints and meridians As a complement to Deep Tissue work As a complement to Equine Electro-Acupressure therapy As a complement to Equine CranioSacral therapy As a complement to Equine Chiropractic and Acupuncture therapy 4. Lunch (30 min)
6 5. Microlief for Daily Optimal Performance and Injury Recovery This segment will include lecture, demonstration, and hands-on practice of these specific Microlief protocols. The lecture and demonstrations include the relevant local equine acupoints. Proper techniques for securing and protecting the Microlief unit will be emphasized Lower leg tendons/ligaments Fetlock (ankle) Carpus (knee) Tarsal (Hock) Hoof 6. Students take home assignment will be to treat a regional area on themselves during the evening/night with one of their Microlief units.
7 Micro-3 Course Syllabus - Day 2 ( 7 hours) 1. Entertain questions, comments and discussion on previous day s activities. Solicit feedback of student s personal experience of using Microlief on themselves during the previous evening. 2. Microlief applications in competition Pre-event preparation and Post-Event recovery 3. Microlief applications for Injury Recovery and Rehabilitation Discuss applications for Microlief to assist in veterinary cases regarding: Acute soft tissue injury Post surgical care Osteo conditions Wound recovery 4. Lunch (30 Minutes)
