Mapping Document Unit Descriptor This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to follow OHS policies and procedures in the entertainment and media industries. Application of the Unit All employees and contractors in the entertainment, events, and screen and media industries apply the skills and knowledge outlined in this unit. Compliance with OHS policies and procedures is essential in all work contexts, along with an understanding of the consequences of non-compliance. Elements and Performance Criteria Element Performance Criteria 1. Work safely 1.1 Follow established safety procedures when conducting work 1.2 Carry out pre-start systems and equipment checks in accordance with workplace procedures 2. Implement workplace safety requirements 3. Participate in OHS consultative processes 4. Follow safety procedures 2.1 Identify designated persons for reporting queries and concerns about safety in the workplace 2.2 Identify existing and potential hazards in the workplace, report them to designated persons and record them in accordance with workplace procedures 2.3 Identify and implement workplace procedures and work instructions for controlling risks 2.4 Report emergency incidents and injuries to designated persons 3.1 Contribute to workplace meetings, inspections or other consultative activities 3.2 Raise OHS issues with designated persons in accordance with organisational procedures 3.3 Take actions to eliminate workplace hazards or to reduce risks 4.1 Identify and report emergency incidents 4.2 Follow organisational procedures for responding to emergency incidents

Task Details 1.Task 01 OHS Apple Worksheet Students work individually to read and gather information related to personal OHS procedures in a workplace such as a multimedia computer environment. 2. Task 02 OHS Notes and Brochure Students work individually to gather information related to workplaces generally and the OHS requirements that need to be met to maintain a safe workplace. They highlight important information then use that information to produce an OHS brochure. 3. Task 03 OHS Audit and PowerPoint Each student works as a team member to plan then undertake an audit of a working area, such as an office, in order to assess whether it meets OHS requirements. This will involve speaking to people who work in that area to asses their work habits, issues and likely problems together with likely solutions. 4. Task 04 OHS Presentation Students work as a member of a team to present the findings of their OHS audit of a workplace. Each student takes on one or more aspects of the workplace and presents their findings with written summaries and visual records accompanied by an oral presentation. 5. Task 05 OHS Final Tests Students work individually to complete a number of Internet tests provided by State run OHS institutions, such as WorkSafe Victoria. The tests will assess the overall knowledge of the student and their application of OHS standards to different scenarios. 6. Direct Observation The assessor will assess the working habits of students in a number of environments including computer operation, teamwork on location when filming and studio setup and operation for a camera shoot.
