Uses of Social Media by Law Enforcement IACP Survey September 2011 800 law enforcement agencies from 49 states 88.1% of agencies surveyed use social media 57.9% of agencies not currently using social media are considering its adoption. 48.6% of agencies surveyed have a social media policy and an additional 22.1% are in the process of crafting a policy. 21
