OUR COMMITMENT TO INDUSTRY ERGT Australia is committed to helping improve safety performance in high-risk industries especially the Oil & Gas industry. The Australian oil & gas industry is going through a transition phase. As the unprecedented run of construction projects are completed, and production commences, the focus of operators is now on longterm operational cost-effectiveness. The cost-effectiveness of labour is a critical consideration in long-term commercial sustainability. While there will be fewer people employed in the production phase than during construction, these are highly skilled workers who can be expected to spend most or all of their careers in oil & gas production. They will also remain amongst Australia s most wellpaid workers, so their time is valuable. It is therefore imperative that people employed in the oil & gas industry are efficiently equipped with the right skills, knowledge and behaviours to work productively and safely over many years. In moving from construction to production many safety skills are similar, but the context changes from personal safety (slips, trips and falls) to process safety (keep it in the pipe). ERGT Australia is undertaking this shift in context while delivering more cost-effective training and assessment solutions. We have been dedicated to serving Australia s oil & gas industry for over 20 years and we are committed to doing so for at least another 20 years. We ll continue to build our understanding of what the industry needs and will continue to find innovative and cost-effective ways to help people working in oil & gas to be safe every day. We look forward to working with you and your organisation to make a difference. Shane Addis Managing Director 2015 COMPANY OVERVIEW

IR INCIDENT RESPONSE Incident Response courses build on skills developed in the Core Safety and Applied Safety programs, to provide specialist skills for individuals and teams responsible for responding to emergencies. Personnel who work as part of an Emergency Response Team (ERT) require a comprehensive skill set that can be practically applied in real-life incidents. Incident Response is a crucial component in the management of an incident. My role is to ensure our courses give participants the ability to maintain control and prevent events from escalating by utilising risk assessment, critical decision making and ultimately their rescue skills. Ben Jeffrey, Incident Response Training Coordinator COURSES INCLUDE: > Fire Team Member Offshore (FTMO) and FTM Industrial (FTMI) > Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (AMSA Approved) > Respond to a Helideck Incident > Lead Emergency Teams (LET) > Undertake Confined Space Rescue (UCSR) > Rescue From Heights (RFH) > Undertake Vertical Rescue (UVR) > Fast Rescue Craft (FRC) (AMSA Approved) > Breathing Apparatus Emergency Response (BA-ER) > LNG Awareness 19
FIRE TEAM MEMBER OFFSHORE (FTMO) The presence of flammable liquids and gases on offshore facilities means there is always the potential of a fire incident occurring. Responding to fire incidents is a high risk task that requires specialist training that covers the skills to assess, control and extinguish fire. Knowledge required includes fire behaviour, using correct personal protective equipment (PPE) and basic rescue techniques. FTM ensures participants develop the knowledge and capability to control a fire incident and protect all involved. RESCUE FROM HEIGHTS (RFH) Working at heights is a high risk task, so performing a rescue operation from heights is an equally high risk activity. RFH gives participants the opportunity to practice, learn and plan the response procedure in a simulated work environment. Emergency Response Team personnel as well as personnel who work at heights need to have the knowledge and skills to respond to emergencies, ensuring the safety of themselves and any casualties. DURATION: 1 Day ACCREDITED BY: ERGT BREATHING APPARATUS EMERGENCY RESPONSE (BA-ER) Personnel working in an irrespirable atmosphere must be able to safely and correctly operate and maintain breathing apparatus to ensure their personal safety. Understanding the effects of an irrespirable atmosphere on the body and the protective equipment used to counter these effects is essential, as is knowing the characteristics, component parts, and operation of a Self- Contained Breathing Apparatus. Practical exercises such as emergency tasks and search & rescue ensure participants are skilled and well-practiced in this critical skill. CORPORATE INCIDENT MANAGEMENT EXERCISES (CIM) An Incident Management Team must ensure the welfare of all personnel involved in an incident, as well as the organisations reputation and ongoing sustainability. ERGT offers a range of exercises from simple communication tasks to full operational exercises for Incident Management Teams, taking into account desired organisational outcomes. All exercises involve multi-level participation, ensuring that all team members take part in problem solving exercises and become familiar with their roles in a structured learning environment. A range of potential major incidents can be simulated, giving personnel the opportunity to perform their roles and responsibilities under simulated workplace stresses, to consolidate their understanding of their Corporate Incident Management plan, identify deficiencies, and recommend solutions to further enhance their response. OFFSHORE INSTALLATION MANAGER ASSESSMENT (OIM ASSESSMENT) Offshore Installation Managers or Facility Incident Commanders are not only responsible for managing the offshore operations of a platform or vessel, but also the health, safety and welfare of all personnel on board. It is therefore critical that OIMs have the ability to manage major offshore emergencies, which may present threats to life, the installation or the environment. In this workshop, management and leadership skills are assessed in a minimum of three increasingly complex emergency scenarios, each based around major accident events. IM 27
INCIDENT COMMANDER TRAINING (ICT) Installation Managers or Facility Incident Commanders are responsible for managing the operations of major hazardous facilities as well as the health, safety and welfare of all personnel in that facility. It is therefore vitally important that they have the ability to handle major emergencies involving large numbers of people and that may present threat to life, the facility or the environment. Candidate s performance is assessed in a range of increasingly complex emergency scenarios, each based around potential incidents. RE-ASSESSMENT It is important that OIM s/incident Commanders maintain competence in combatting major offshore incidents given the potential associated risks to people, the installation and the environment. Therefore it is recommended that re-assessment is conducted within three years from the date of initial sign-off. Familiarisation and simulator practice is provided before completing a range of emergency scenarios to assess participant s ongoing competence to manage offshore incidents. 2015 COMPANY OVERVIEW
INCIDENT COMMAND TEAM TRAINING (ICTT) New members of a Command Team must first understand team roles and responsibilities. Armed with this understanding, teams practice these functions under duress. During simulated, scenariobased training sessions, participants capture, record and disseminate information whilst tracking resources and maintaining a chronological record of events. CRISIS MANAGEMENT TEAM TRAINING (CMT) The reputation and commercial viability of an organisation is directly impacted by the corporate response during and following an incident. The Crisis Management Team must effectively co-ordinate people, resources, finances, legal issues and other key stakeholders as part of their corporate reaction. During scenario-based simulations, teams practice their roles and responsibilities, allocate resources, and consider long term business continuity and recovery. IM 29
