AG Giving AG Giving is designed to give you the ability to view and manage your contributions with the most up-to-date information available. It offers the ease of instantly giving to a desired ministry or missionary while also setting up recurring contributions. Once an account has been created, you can also view your contribution history and print receipts for personal and tax purposes. This handout is an overview of how to use AG Giving. Some screen shots may appear altered due to size limitations and improvements made to the site. Accessing AG Giving Table of Contents Accessing AG Giving page 1 Donating to a Ministry page 1 Donating with PayPal page 4 Donating with an E-Check page 4 Donating with an AG Giving Account page 4 My Account page 5 You can access AG Giving by going to http://giving.ag.org. There you have the option to begin searching for ministries or missionaries to give to or log in and access your AG Giving account. Note that AG Giving accounts are powered through AG Passport; therefore, donors who have an AG Passport account may use that username and password to log into AG Giving. Donors who do not have an AG Giving account will be required to check out as a guest. Log In Search You can start by going to http://giving.ag.org/ and begin searching for a ministry to donate to or log into your account. Donating to a Ministry To begin, you will need to find the ministries or missionaries you would like to financially support. To do this, you may use the Search feature found on either the Home page or by clicking Donate Now. In the Search box, type any portion of the ministry or missionary name and click Search to review a list of ministries that meet that criterion. Alternatively, you may also search by the six or seven-digit account number of the missionary or ministry if known. Note there may be multiple pages of ministries and missionaries that meet the criterion. Once the desired ministry is found, click Give Now. To search, enter the desired search criterion and click Search. Once the desired ministry is found, click the Give Now button located next to that ministry.

You now have the following options: 1. Specify the dollar amount by selecting it from the provided options or typing any amount in the Other field. Note commas are not accepted in this field. 2. Provide more detailed information such as the class the contribution should be credited to for missionaries. 3. Provide a comment for Contributor Services to review. Note this does not send a message to a missionary. 4. Share your email address with a missionary or missionary institute by checking the Share my email address checkbox and typing your email address in the box provided. Once done, you have two options: Give Now and Setup Recurring Gift. To make this a recurring monthly contribution, click the Setup Recurring Gift button; otherwise choose Give Now. Note that if Give Now is selected, the contribution for the missionary or ministry will be processed immediately. If Setup Recurring Gift is selected, an automatic recurring contribution will be set up for the missionary or ministry. The first contribution will be processed immediately and then a contribution will automatically process on the 20 th of future months. Option 3 You will now be redirected to the Cart area. Here you have the option to make adjustments to your contribution along with a few other choices: 1. Change the frequency of your gift. Options include One-Time or Monthly. 2. Adjust the contribution amount. 3. Remove the contribution from the Cart. 4. Return to the previous screen where you can add a comment. 5. Create a Faith Promise or Faith Commitment. (This option is only available if contributing to a missionary. It does not automatically set up a recurring contribution, nor does it mark a gift as a contribution to be credited towards an existing faith commitment or promise. Instead this option is designed to have a faith commitment or promise created on your behalf for the selected missionary. The missionary will then be notified and credited for this monthly commitment. If a faith commitment or promise has previously been created, this box should remain unchecked.) If any adjustments are made, click Update Cart for them to take effect. If you would like to add a missionary or ministry to the cart, click Continue Giving to return to the search screen. If you are ready to checkout, click Proceed to Checkout. 2 P a g e

To checkout you have two options: Log In or Checkout as Guest. If you have an AG Giving account, you may log in to checkout. This gives you the option to use saved credit card information, give to ministries based on previous contributions, and view previous and recurring contributions. For more on logging in, see the Donating with an AG Giving Account section on the following pages. If you do not have an account, you will need to checkout as a guest by clicking Give Now. You will then be directed to the Checkout screen where you can begin the checkout process. Option 3 In the Checkout screen you will have the following options: 1. Choose whether to give with a credit card, PayPal account, or e- check. For more on giving through PayPal or using an e- check see the following page. 2. Create an AG Giving account. If this option is selected, instructions will be sent to your email address within 1-2 business days with further instructions. 3. For recurring contributions, you will have the option to designate an end date for your contribution. You will also be required to authorize your credit card by checking the appropriate box. 4. If your donor information is different from your billing information, you will need to add this additional information. Once you are done, click Submit Contribution to continue. Note the contribution total is listed under the Submit Contribution button. Once your contribution has been submitted, a contribution summary page will open and a detailed email containing information regarding your contribution will be sent to the email address listed in the billing information. Your contribution has now been submitted and will be processed in 1-2 business days. 3 P a g e

Donating with PayPal If you choose to donate with a PayPal account, you will be redirected to the PayPal log in screen once Submit Contribution is clicked. Supply your email and PayPal password to apply this transaction to your account. Once it has been submitted, you will be redirected back to AG Giving and able to view a contribution summary page. Note that if you choose to donate through PayPal, you will be required to abide by PayPal s giving policies, e.g. you can only increase a recurring contribution by 20% within a 6 month time period. Donating with an E-Check The newest option for AG Giving is the ability to donate with an e-check. This option automatically deducts the contribution amount from the specified checking or savings account located within the United States; foreign accounts are not accepted. In order to pay by an e-check you will need to enter your bank account along with your bank s routing number located at the bottom of your check. You will also have to enter your driver s license information in order to verify your identity. If donating using a church or district checking or savings account, you will be required to enter the church or district s tax identification number (TIN) instead of a driver s license number. The maximum contribution with an e- check is $2,500. Note that if you use an AG Giving account, you will be able to save your bank information for future contributions. Donating with an AG Giving Account If you have an AG Giving account, you may log in to process your giving transactions. To log in, type your AG Giving username and password in the appropriate field and click Log On. Once logged in, you will have an additional tab at the top of the screen called My Account. This tab provides a variety of options only available for account holders. For more on these options refer to the My Account section on the following pages. To make a contribution, follow the steps outlined in the Donating to a Ministry section on the preceding pages. Once you proceed to the checkout screen, you will have a few additional options to consider. One of the advantages of creating an account is the ability to have credit card and bank information saved. Once credit card or bank information has been saved, you may quickly charge a contribution to that credit card or bank account by choosing it from the provided list. If you would like to use a different credit card, you will need to choose New Credit Card and add the appropriate information. Also available for account holders is the option to apply a church to credit to your contribution. This credit allows your church to use your contribution towards its total giving credit for AG recognition. This does not mean the church will receive a receipt for your gift. In order for you to supply a church to credit, you must check the I would like my church to receive credit for this contribution checkbox. Then enter the church s account number. NOTE: The church will not receive credit if you do not supply the church s account number. 4 P a g e

My Account The My Account area of AG Giving offers an assortment of options. Once logged in, the My Account link appears at the top of the screen allowing access to a variety of areas. To access an area, click on any link at the top or choose the corresponding button in the area below. Inserted between the links and the buttons is a summary of your total giving from 2005 to the present, your year-to-date giving, and a total for your monthly scheduled contributions. Links Recent Gifts The Recent Gifts area allows you to not only review recent contributions, but also quickly give again to those ministries. To access this area, click the Recent Gifts link at the top or the Recent Gift Quick Give button in the appropriate section. In the Recent Gifts area, you will be greeted with a list of recent contributions. If you would like to make an additional contribution to any of the listed ministries or missionaries, follow these steps: 1. Check the box next to the desired ministry or choose all ministries by checking the box next to Give Now. 2. Adjust the gift amount if necessary. 3. Add any desired comments. 4. Click Give to Selected. You will then be taken to the My Cart area where you can complete your transaction. Step 4 Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 5 P a g e

Giving History Giving History is the place to go to view previous contributions. It provides both summary and detailed information for current and preceding year s donations while also providing analysis for comparing the current year s contributions to those of preceding years. To access this area, click the History link or the View All History button. The Giving History area offers the following options: 1. View your contribution history for a desired year. 2. View and print giving receipts. 3. View contributions based upon the category and ministry given to. This displays a list of categories you gave to for the year separated by each ministry. 4. View contributions based upon the date given. This shows your contribution totals for each month separated by the document. Option 3 Giving Receipts While you may use the Giving History area to print receipts, you may also get to this area by selecting the Receipts link or clicking the Download Receipts button from the My Account home screen. In this area, select the desired year from the Change Year area, and then click Generate Report. 6 P a g e

Recurring Transactions The Recurring Transactions area lists each schedule assigned to your account and allows changes such as amount, designated ministry, or the credit card, debit card, or PayPal account charged. Recurring contributions include those that are set up on a monthly schedule and are applied to the same credit card, debit card, or PayPal account each month. These schedules may or may not include an end date or church to credit depending on what was specified. You can access this area by clicking the Recurring Transactions link or Manage Schedules button. If you desire to make an adjustment to a schedule, click the Update Schedule link. In the next screen, make the following adjustments to the schedule: 1. Change the end date. 2. Adjust the contribution amount. 3. Remove a contribution. 4. Add a new ministry or missionary. 5. Change the credit card that the contribution(s) is charged to. 6. Add or change the church to credit. 7. Return to the schedules list. Once done making adjustments, click the Save Changes button. Option 7 Option 3 Option 5 Option 6 7 P a g e

Also available in the Recurring Transactions area is the ability to view upcoming transactions. You may access this list by clicking the View Transactions link at the bottom of the schedule. Account Settings Account Settings offers the ability to change settings such as how often you receive a giving receipt. To do this, you may select the Settings link or click the Change Settings button. Manage Saved Payment Methods At the bottom of the My Account tab, you will find the option to Manage Saved Payment Methods. This area offers the ability to add additional credit cards or bank accounts, change expiration dates, and specify a default payment method. To access this area, click the Saved Funding Sources link or the Manage Payments button. The Saved Payment Methods area offers the following options: 1. Add an additional funding source. 2. Edit credit card or bank information. 3. Delete a funding source. NOTE: You cannot delete any funding source that is on an active recurring schedule. 4. Change your default funding source. The default funding source is preselected during the checkout process when making additional contributions. Changing your default funding source does not change the funding source used in any of your existing schedules. To change funding sources tied to a schedule, you will need to go to the Recurring Transactions area, click on Update Schedule, select the new funding source, and click Save Changes. Option 3 Review As technology changes and advances are made, the National Office wants to make sure these advances are utilized in order to help ease the burden of our constituents. AG Giving is one way of making that happen. It offers a quick and easy way to not only give, but also manage future and past contributions. 8 P a g e
