INTERESTS: Economic anthropology, gender and development issues, micro-finance and entrepreneurship, black economic empowerment in South Africa and community development. BACKGROUND: Pastoral ministry; professor for 15 years in Indonesia; founder of a healing and renewal ministry for pastors and church leaders. INTERESTS: Biblical and theological studies in cross-cultural applications; Missions.
[Every] course helped me prepare for my current ministry. Some became the foundation of my missiological thinking and others broadened and deepened my perspective on missions. The knowledge and insights that I got from my professors were immeasurable. With my education at Biola, I was able to look at today s missions in a completely new way and I can help God s people to prepare for their calling in this rapidly changing world. DOCTOR OF MISSIOLOGY 40 UNITS This professional doctoral degree further equips workers already engaged in intercultural ministry by deepening their understanding and application of lessons from history, theology and the social sciences. Many graduates of this program continue in their present ministries; others assume positions of leadership or of teaching and training others. The D.Miss. may be completed entirely on Biola s La Mirada campus, entirely at an extension site, or some combination of the two. HANSUNG KIM (D.MISS. 11) ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, ACTS, SOUTH KOREA All coursework for the Doctor of Missiology (D.Miss.) can be completed in Chiang Mai. 24 units of both the Ph.D. in Intercultural Education or Intercultural Studies can be completed in Chiang Mai. The remaining coursework needed for the Ph.D. programs can be completed at Biola in July intensives over the course of four years. ONE-THIRD TUITION SCHOLARSHIP A scholarship of 1/3 off of tuition is automatically given to all students attending class on site in Chiang Mai. No application is necessary.

Half of the coursework for this Ph.D. program can be completed at an extension site. The remaining coursework can be completed during two-week modulars on Biola s La Mirada campus.
