Monitoring with the Operations Manager... preparations 1.1.3 Activities after installation After you have successfully installed the software, proceed as follows: 1. Refer to the README files for EMC SMI-S Provider and ServerView Storage Manager (StorMan) for information on any last-minute changes to these products. 2. Modify the configuration of the SMI-S Provider: a) In the configuration file.\emc\symcli\storbin\emcprovider.conf for the SMI-S Provider, change the line OslProv/com.emc.se.osls.osl.StorApi.database.discover = true to OslProv/com.emc.se.osls.osl.StorApi.database.discover = false I By default, the configuration file is located under: C:\Program Files. b) Restart the service CIM Object Manager - EMC_SMI_Provider to activate the modified configuration. 3. Ensure that the StorMan Service is started, since you will need to use Storage Manager (StorMan) commands in the following steps. 4. Add the name or the IP address of the server on which the EMC SMI-S Provider is running to the Storage Manager (StorMan) database: C:\Program Files\Fujitsu\StorMan\bin> storcfg cimom -add -name <name> bzw. C:\Program Files\Fujitsu\StorMan\bin> storcfg cimom -add -ip <ip> There are two different ways of proceeding from here: See The SMI-S Provider is connected to FibreCAT CX via Fibre Channel. See The SMI-S Provider is connected to FibreCAT CX via an IP connection. FibreCAT CX 9
... preparations Monitoring with the Operations Manager The SMI-S Provider is connected to FibreCAT CX via Fibre Channel Proceed as follows: 1.
