Why take the exam? Based on your current achievements, passing this test gives you one component toward achieving: HP Accredited Technical Professional (ATP) Rack and Tower Server Solutions Support V8 certification HP ATP - Rack and Tower Server Solutions Support V8 certification This certification attests that you can: demonstrate your in-depth understanding of the technologies deployed in HP Rack and Tower Server Solutions based on HP Integrity and HP ProLiant Servers including the new HP ProLiant Generation 8 (Gen8) Server technologies and solutions describe and position the HP diagnostic tools, their purpose, and how to analyze customer problems develop, test and document an appropriate resolution to the customer problem(s) There are two paths to achieve this certification, as outlined below. The exams you must pass are dependent upon which achievements you currently hold. Path 1 This path is designed for service professionals who have the following certification: APS HP ProLiant ML/DL/SL Server Solutions [2010] If you meet these criteria, then passing the HP2-T25 alone gives you the certification. By completing this path, you will also be granted the HP ATP - Rack and Tower Server Solutions Support V8 certification. Path 2 If you do not meet the requirements for path 1, then you must complete this path, which is designed for new candidates. First, you must achieve the prerequisite, CompTIA Server+ or exam HP2-T16 Industry Standard Architecture and Technology. Second, you must pass the following exam: Servicing HP Rack and Tower Server Solutions (HP2-T25) Table 1 summarizes the requirements for both paths.

Requirements for HP ATP Rack and Tower Server Solution Support Table 1: HP ATP Rack and Tower Server Solutions Support V8 requirements based on current achievement Current achievements APS HP ProLiant ML/DL/SL Server Solutions [2010] Certification Any other candidate CompTIA Server+ Or Web-based exam Industry Standard Architecture and Technology (HP2-T16) X Web-based exam Servicing HP Rack and Tower Server Solutions (HP2-T25) X X Who should take this exam? All candidates for HP ATP - Rack and Tower Server Solutions Support V8 certification must take the Servicing HP Rack and Tower Server Solutions (HP2-T25) exam. Although anyone can take the exam, most successful candidates have a minimum of one year experience servicing HP server solutions. It is also expected that you will have industry-standard server technology knowledge from training, hands-on experience or participation in other technical events. This guide describes some of these ways and provides references to materials for further preparation. NOTE Although anyone can take the exam, passing it helps you to achieve certification only if you have one of the achievements listed in Table 1. If you are a new candidate and want to earn the HP ATP - Rack and Tower Server Solutions Support V8 certification, you need to complete the prerequisite CompTIA Server+ or exam HP2-T16, Industry Standard Architecture and Technology, first. How to study for the exam The Servicing HP Rack and Tower Server Solutions (HP2-T25) exam tests you on topics that are covered in an HP web-based training (WBT) course (3 days total). This training is recommended for all candidates no matter what their current achievements. While it is recommended that you complete this training, the training is neither required nor does it guarantee that you will pass the exam. It is expected that you will study on your own and draw on your real-world experience. Also remember that the exam tests you on service concepts, which are covered in a documentbased course and real life experiences. Read the sections below to assess your options. Even if you do not intend to complete the recommended WBTs and document-based course, you should examine the topics that are listed for them in the sections below; the exam will test you on your mastery of these topics. Tips for taking HP exams Rather than emphasize simple memorization, HP exams attempt to assess whether you have the knowledge and skills that an IT professional requires on the job. Therefore, many test items present a scenario, which outlines a particular environment or problem. Some test items also include exhibits that need to be used to answer the test item correctly. Exhibits might show: Network diagram for cable connections to interconnect module Enclosure rack placement and configuration Screenshot showing the results of executing a command SIM Web browser interface screenshot The test may include: Multiple choice questions that have a single correct answer Multiple response questions that have two or more correct answers Pull-down or Matching items Point-and-click questions that require you to click on the correct answer Before you answer a question, take the time to read the entire question and all of the options carefully. If the question indicates that it features an exhibit, study the exhibit and reread the question. Make sure to select the answer that correctly responds to the question that is asked not simply an answer that includes some correct information. If the question asks for more than one answer, remember to select each correct answer. You do not receive partial credit for a partially correct answer. ExpertOne exams will be presented in blocks, also known as sections. You can move from question to question within the block, and/or skip questions and/or change your answers. However, once you submit your answers for each block, you cannot return to a previous block to review these questions or change your answers. Register To register for this exam, please go to the exam tab in The Learning Center and click on Access more information. Visit http://www.hp.com/go/expertone for access.
