Curriculum Vitae 25th August 1976 Antti-Jussi Tahvanainen Birth date Nationality Finnish Marital status Married Mannerheimintie 94 B 94, FIN-00250 Helsinki antti.tahvanainen@etla.fi, mobile: +358 44 5351797 Ph.D., Research Economist Research in the fields of technology transfer and management of technology at the Research Institute of the Finnish Economy. Research on radical innovation practices as project researcher at Lahti School of Innovation Ph.D. obtained at Aalto University, School of Science, Institute for International Business and Strategy. Dissertation: Diagnosing the Growing Pains of a Technology-Based Industry - An Examination of the Finnish Biotechnology Industry in Light of Empirical Economics The importance of technological innovation - a motivator for professional excellence I have committed myself to understanding the role that the development and commercialization of technologies play in the growth and prosperity of economies and single organizations. With a particular focus on the transfer of technology, the combination of profound comprehension of the commercial and economic aspects of technological development and the ability to relate to and cope with the mindsets of individuals from a rich variety of backgrounds forms a strength that is most effectively applied in the interface between R&D and the marketplace, a zone where the academic and commercial realms clash too often at the expense of innovation. Through the analysis of impediments and key success factors in finance, organizational strategy, knowledge and technology management, technology transfer as well as innovation policy, I aspire to contribute to the research of innovation and commercialization processes.
