WBS TRAINING AG: Company Profile With almost 700 employees, 1.400 freelance trainers, and more than 130 institutes nationwide as well as more than 12.000 annual course participants, WBS TRAINING AG is one of the leading independent vocational training and service providers in Germany. With headquarters in Berlin, the company has an annual turnover of about 60 million. The predecessor of WBS TRAINING AG started in 1979 as a subdivision of the publishing company Ernst Klett Verlag Stuttgart. In 1985, it became a separate company known as Klett Wirtschafts- und Bildungsservice KG (Klett WBS). WBS TRAINING AG was then founded in 1998. Its business divisions consist of funded vocational training, business training and consulting for companies as well as business seminars for individuals. Since 1997, WBS TRAINING AG has been certified according to DIN ISO 9001:2008. Range of services and teaching method WBS TRAINING AG offers services in the field of training, coaching and consulting for companies, federal and regional authorities, the Federal Labor Office and individuals. Since 2004, WBS TRAINING AG has also been involved in international projects. The range of topics covers business administration and language training (including HR, logistics and sales), IT training (SAP, network administration, web programming/- design), technical training (CAD, automation, alternative and renewable energies), media and communication as well as security training and education and health care. Beyond the traditional teaching in an onsite classroom, WBS TRAINING AG has positioned itself as a pioneer of web-based live classes within a virtual classroom. Through WBS LernNetz Live, it is possible to connect participants with the best trainers via an interactive learning platform that is independent of location and offers the opportunity for transnational training. WBS TRAINING AG: International projects In today s rapidly changing world, the global economy has become more interdependent. Therefore, lifelong learning and the transfer of knowledge are key elements for innovation and sustainability. WBS TRAINING AG engages in the exchange of knowledge and successful cooperation on an international level. Since 2004, WBS TRAINING AG has participated in various European education projects, gaining vast experience and developing expertise in project cooperation at the European level. These Partnership projects include topics such as training needs analysis and consulting along with the development of training concepts and their evaluation as well as e-learning concepts for various target groups and sectors. Moreover, since 2006, WBS TRAINING AG has hosted mobility projects within the framework of the European funding programme Leonardo da Vinci (IVT, VETPRO und PLM). Since then, more than 2.000 participants have taken part in about 100 mobility projects in the fields of CAD, Web design, renewable energies, automation, business startups, marketing and first aid/health care. 1
In January 2014, WBS TRAINING AG expanded its international expertise by incorporating the Bildungsmeile Dortmund, which had long-term experience in implementing education programmes for the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ, previously also INWENT). These projects focus on scholarships for professionals and executives from the province of Shanxi in China and are granted by the Ministry of Economy of North Rhine-Westphalia. Other projects focus on Capacity Building for sustainable economic development in China that is environmentally and socially acceptable. Since January 2014, WBS TRAINING AG has also been represented in Austria with a sister institute in Vienna. At the same time, in cooperation with a Polish partner, WBS TRAINING AG founded an educational institute in Poland called Education Unlimited. Through longtime contact with employers and networks, WBS TRAINING AG arranges internships and vocational training for pupils, potential trainees and students and is involved in a funding programme focusing on the transfer of professionals (e.g. MobiPro- EU/The Job of My Life). Through the programme s skillful language training and professional advice, the candidates receive optimal preparation for living and working in Germany.
