Medtech Fax Solution Practices having Windows 7 and above were not able to use the FaxTech utility for Faxing requirements, this issue has been resolved by providing a new Medtech Faxing Solution which relies on the Microsoft Windows Fax and Scan application. A separate installer will be provided to practices to enable using the Medtech Fax solution, this installer has to be run on the designated Fax server at the practice. Note: In order to use Medtech Faxing solution the user must be licensed for Faxing Module under the Medtech Registration utility. The following changes have been implemented in the latest version of Medtech32 to enable Medtech Faxing solution:- Printer Default Screen Changes File Print Setup Printer Default Screen Installing the separate installer for Medtech Fax solution will have changes to the Printer Defaults screen where the Fax drop down option will be preselected by default and cannot be changed as this will be greyed out for selection. Please Note for those practices who haven t installed the Medtech Fax solution, there won t be any changes to the Printer Defaults screen. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 3 of 7
Sending Fax Messages from Out Box Module Out Box New/View Document Screen Module Out Box New/View Document Screen Document Wizard The Out Box document can be sent to Fax recipients by selecting the recipient details and clicking the Fax Recipient option available under the Send To button. Similar functionality is available via the Document Wizard screen that can be displayed via the New/View Document screen. When the Out Box document is sent to the Fax recipient by clicking the Fax Recipient option, a message will be displayed as given below. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 4 of 7
Faxing Prescription Details from Consultation Screen Module Clinical Consultation Screen Medtech Fax solution has been enabled for sending Prescription details via the Consultation screen The prescriptions displayed under the Consultation screen can be sent to Fax Recipient by clicking the Send to fax or email Prescribed Medications that are in Bold icon. Messages Lodged Screen Changes Tools Message Transfer Messages Lodged Screen A new Fax tab has been added under the Messages Lodged screen, this tab will display the details of the Fax messages sent for various patients. The Fax tab will display the Fax Date, Patient Name, Fax Link (Outbox document or Prescription date), Fax Type (Outbox or Prescription), Agency details and the Fax Status (there are various Fax specific statuses). If Medtech Fax solution has not been installed and the practice is still using the FaxTech solution then the Fax tab will be disabled and greyed out. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 5 of 7
The Reset, Resend & Delete functionalities won t be available for Medtech Fax solution and hence these icons have been disabled in the Messages Lodged screen Fax tab. A right click option titled Cancel has been provided, this will enable cancelling of any faxes available in the queue with the status of To Be Sent. Selecting an existing Outbox type Fax message in the Fax tab and clicking the Open an existing row (Ctrl+O) or double clicking on the selection will display the Fax message details in the View patient Document screen. Similarly selecting an existing Prescription type of Fax message in the Fax tab and clicking the Open an existing row (Ctrl+O) or double clicking on the selection will display the Prescription Fax message details in the View Fax screen. A Filter Fax Messages screen has been provided to filter various Fax specific details. Patient Out Box Screen Changes Module Out Box Patient Out Box Screen A new tab called Fax will be available under the Patient Out Box screen, this tab will display the details of the Fax messages sent for the active patient on the palette.
