Installation Prerequisites Checklist Checklist 1 - Pre-Requisite Procedures Before attempting to run the Version 20.6 update please ensure that a COMPLETE file level backup of the MT32 directory, and ALL databases located in the MT32\Data directory has been completed successfully. It is also recommented that you have completed a FULL Interbase Backup and Restore on ALL of your Medtech32 databases within the last 3 months. Check the current Medtech32 installed version [Help About Medtech32] before attempting the Version 20.6 upgrade. The practice must be on the following Medtech32 version: Version 20.0 Build 3528 (or greater) NOTE:If the practice is NOT on the Medtech32 version mentioned above, please DO NOT continue ALL users (including remote users) have logged out of Medtech32 and ALL scheduled utilities, backup or maintenance tasks, and third party interfaces that require access to the databases have been stopped. The following Utilities have been SHUT DOWN or STOPPED: Medtech32 Scheduler Windows Scheduler NIR Directory Monitoring Utility Medtech Generic Directory Monitor Utility Note: This is a CRITICAL step as these exe s are being replaced during this upgrade The following Windows Services have been STOPPED: Medtech Services Note: This is a CRITICAL step as the Medtech Service is being replaced during this upgrade. Ensure that the Medtech Clinical Audit Tool [CAT] is not currently running on any machine The Release Notes, Installation Instructions, and Installation Checklist documentation has been reviewed and is understood. IMPORTANT: This documentation contains valuable information that, if not read, could seriously affect the upgrade progress and/or possible down time of your network. Ensure you are logged onto Windows with Full Administrative rights when performing ANY installation, update, or maintenance tasks. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 3 of 9

4 You are logged onto the Medtech32 Server and all users are logged out of Medtech32. ALL Briefcasing laptops with outstanding Briefcased data have been checked-in. ALL Briefcasing laptops have been disconnected from the network. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 4 of 9

5 Installation Upgrade Checklist Checklist 2 - Installation Procedures ALL steps in the Pre-Requisite Procedures section of the Installation Checklist have been completed. The update has been run on the Medtech32 Server and has completed without errors. If prompted to do so after installation, a reboot of the Server has been completed. The update has been run on any and all laptops that are used for Briefcasing and has completed without errors. NOTE: ALL Briefcasing laptops MUST be updated to the same version and build as the Medtech32 Server. Any errors encountered during the installation process have been captured and have been provided to Medtech Support for assistance Note: If you receive an error during upgrade related to a failure to update the Medtech License (ie: Your licence file appears to be corrupt) please do NOT contact the Medtech Support team. Instead please refer to Step 7 in the Post Installation Checklist for the necessary process to follow. For practices currently using the Clinical Audit Tool that are upgrading to Version 20.6 Build 3697 an upgrade to the Clinical Audit Tool is also required to be completed. This Clinical Audit Tool update should only be completed by those practices that currently have the Medtech Clinical Audit Tool installed and only after the upgrade to Version 20.6 Build 3697 is completed. Please refer to the Practice Notification for details on completing the Clinical Audit Tool upgrade. Copyright Medtech Limited Page 5 of 9

6 Medtech32 Version 20.6 Installation Before attempting to run the Version 20.6 update please ensure that a COMPLETE file level backup of the MT32 directory, and ALL databases located in the MT32\Data directory has been completed successfully. It is also recommented that you have completed a FULL Interbase Backup and Restore on ALL of your Medtech32 databases within the last 3 months. Medtech recommends that all Medtech upgrades and database back-up and restore processes are performed by a Medtech Certified Technician or your Practice Technician. Note: A Back-up and Restore is NOT required prior to running this update. This update MUST be run on the Medtech32 Server. All Users must be logged out of the system when this update is being run. Please refer to the pre-requisites on Page 3 of these Installation Instructions before running this update. 1. Ensure that you have completed and checked all items in the Installation Pre- Requisite Procedures Checklist (Page 3/4 above). 2. Download the Version 20.6 Build 3697 Update provided. 3. Double Click on the update to start the installation process. When running this update on the Medtech32 Server, please select the Medtech32 Server Installation on this computer option on the Select Installation screen. 4. The Database Structure Check utility will be run. 5. The Upgrade SQL utility will be run. 6. The Medtech Application exe s will be replaced 7. The Medtech Services Windows Service will be updated 8. A new E-Therapy Advanced Form will be automatically imported 9. A utility will be installed and run to Insert the new Alert Code for Newborn Enrolment Note: The Advanced Form and Alert Code utility will be deleted from the Medtech32 directory once they have been completed successfully. The Medtech Registration Advanced Forms Expiry Date will automatically be updated to: 30 Sep Note: If you receive an error during upgrade related to a failure to update the Medtech License (ie: Your licence file appears to be corrupt) please do NOT call the Medtech Support team. Instead please refer to Step 7 in the Post Installation Checklist for the necessary process to follow. 11. Once the update is completed, the following message will be displayed. 12. Click on OK to close the installation screen 13. You may be prompted to reboot the server at completion of the installation. If prompted, please complete the reboot of the server when requested. 14. Ensure that the Version 20.6 upgrade is run on any and all laptops that are used for Briefcasing. When running this update on the Medtech32 Briefcasing Laptop, please select the Medtech32 Briefcasing Installation on this computer option on the Select Installation screen. Note: ALL Briefcasing laptops MUST be updated to the same version and build as the Medtech32 Server. 15. For practices currently using the Clinical Audit Tool that are upgrading to Version 20.6 Build 3697 an upgrade to the Clinical Audit Tool is also required to be completed. 9 Login to Medtech32 and ensure database connection is successful. Please ensure database connection is successful to ALL databases registered. Check the current Medtech32 installed version [Help About Medtech32]. After upgrade this should read Version 20.6 Build Check the current Medtech32 Registration [Help Register]. After upgrade the Advanced Forms Expiry Date should show 30 Sep Note: If you receive an error during upgrade related to a failure to update the Medtech License (ie: Your licence file appears to be corrupt) please do NOT callt the Medtech Support team. Instead please submit a request to update the Medtech License via either of the following standard processes: 1. Log into Medtech32 and open the Medtech32 Registration screen [Help Register]. Print out the Registration and send it into Medtech for updating, or 2. Log into Medtech32 and open the Contact Support screen [Help Contact Support]. Select the Request Category of License Query and submit the License upgrade request. Ensure that ALL staff can successfully log into Medtech32 without error. Any errors encountered during the post installation process have been captured and have been provided to Medtech Support for assistance.
