Use In Michigan State mandates use of FieldManager for all MDOT let road, bridge, and airport construction contracts FieldManager can also be used for non-mdot projects through FieldBuilder and MERL FieldManager saves Michigan $28.5 million per year based on latest survey Should be running release 4.5a, 4.7a, or 4.7B (Contractor)
Use Outside Of Michigan FieldManager jointly owned by State of Michigan and Info Tech, Inc. Release 4.7a Includes: Additional inquiries have been added to the Quick Query fly-out button in the Window Toolbar for many windows throughout the software Option added which allows multiple reports to be saved to a single PDF file IDR document modified to show both the Project Engineer and Resident Engineer Approval Date column added to the contract modification list screen Ability to select the contractor when adding new items to a contract modification Original Item Change Amount, Overrun Percentage, and Extra Percentage has been added to the Contract Status inquiry

Release 4.8a Will include: New Send/Get button in Window Toolbar New Item Postings Summary by Breakdown inquiry New column in Items list showing the item s percent of the contract value Various tech upgrades including: Windows 7 compatibility Oracle 11g (client/server installations) Sybase SQL Anywhere 11 (client/server installations) Many small miscellaneous enhancements Addresses approximately 38 maintenance requests
Release 4.8a (cont) FieldPad will no longer be available: Use has declined No longer cost effective to maintain and support FieldManager 4.7a is final release of FieldPad component Engineering completed in January Currently in Info Tech testing phase Statewide implementation will likely be next winter
Future Move To Web Environment Client/server technology slowly becoming obsolete FieldManager is 13 years old State of Michigan s strategic direction calls for migrating client/server applications to web environment Many benefits to web environment including much easier access for user organizations statewide
MDOT/AASHTO Partnership MDOT partnering with AASHTO to rewrite FieldManager for web environment MDOT participation includes: Project management and oversight assistance throughout the effort Staff for comprehensive hands-on participation in the design/development project Funding contribution Partnership benefits include: AASHTO and other states provide majority of funding Draw on expertise of AASHTO Construction/Materials committee members for best business practices (15 states)
