Installation of the card and configuration of the IP connection is already described on STEP1: TCP/IP Configuration. 1. Function and area of use The operator terminal can be used as a web server. Using a terminal applet, the operator terminal can be reflected in the web browser Microsoft Internet Explorer. Version 1.00 of the terminal applet can also be reflected in Netscape Navigator. The terminal reflection has the same function as the real operator terminal and is used in the same way. The operator terminal has to have an expansion slot (available on CP551 without slot) to support the function. 2. About the Start Up document This Start Up document should not be considered as a complete manual. It is an aid to be able to start up a normal application quickly and easily. For further information we refer to the manual of the operator terminal. 3. Technical description The terminal applet creates a reflection of the operator terminal. The operator terminal with its project is then shown in the web browser. Object status can then be altered, recipes written and so on by using the computer s mouse and keyboard. All the functions supported in the operator terminal are also supported in the terminal applet. Two files are required for the operator terminal reflection to work: ***appl.cab ***.htm The files are specific for each type of operator terminal and can be obtained from your closest distributor of operator terminals and are include in the CP500 Soft. Note: The ***appl.cab file shall not be decompressed manually; this is done in the browser. For the terminal applet to work the latest version of Microsoft Virtual Machine (ver. 5.0 or later) must be used. The file can be downloaded from www.microsoft.com. Entrelec 1SBC159100M0202_Ch2 En 3

6. Downloading the terminal applet and the HTML file This section describes how to download the terminal applet and the HTML file to the operator terminal. In the following example the program FTP Client is used. The program is included in the additional software tools. Start the FTP Client program in the CP tools program group of the additional software tools. Select Comm Settings in the Options menu. Click New in the Communication setting window. Enter a name for the connection. Enter the IP address of the operator terminal you want to speak with. (See Chap 2: Configuration of address TCP/IP in Step1) Click OK, and then click OK once more. Click Connect. The operator terminal now functions as an FTP server. The HTML library is marked in the Terminal Files field. Look for the two files that were downloaded earlier (***.htm and ***appl.cab) in the PC Files field. The files are downloaded to the terminal by marking them and clicking < Send.
